Question for the ladies: Is it normal when your bf urinates sitting down?
I accidentally opened the bathroom door and saw him. Of course, I was really in shock but he explained to me he was raised in a house full of women and that they tought him to do that, "because a gentleman will never leave drops arund when there's a woman visiting or living in a man's house". I should also say that he is "metro-sexual". What do you say about this?
He was not doing # 2 because he "invited" me to use the sink while he was still peeing. And yes, he's straight but also mexican, and it was weird to me because Latins don't usually do that.

Let's put it this way: If I had to potty train my son all over again, knowing what I know now, I would train him to SIT DOWN! OMG! The messes they can make is beyond belief! Consider yourself lucky. At least you will never have to step in a puddle in the mddle of the night in a dark bathroom.

I would say that it wasn't anything to worry about except for the fact that he does it all the time & was always surrounded by women and that's what they taught him, and also because he is metro sexual, I mean depending on how long you've been with him you never know what kind of secret he could be keeping from you. That was wrong on his mother's part to do that tho, and if he really wanted to urinate standing up he could have, he went to school didn't he? surrounded by boys, who did it the normal way.
ps. someone above said that he could have been going #2... that's true also I know guys that do that and pee sitting down because of it.

Some sit down because they spray a little when they pee. It can be a sign of a medical condition. (e.g., enlarged prostate, narrow urethra).
Be thankful he is not pissing on the seat and merely wiping it off without sanitizing it. Yes, the seat SHOULD go up IF a man pisses standing, but I am sure a fair number forget to raise the seat time-to-time. Think that each time you sit to piss, you very well could be sitting on a un-sanitized toilet seat. Lovely, eh?

My hubby of 36 years always sits and there's no question about his manliness!!
I've known several guys who say they always sit. Some, like your bf, grew up in female-dominated environments, one guy told me it was easier than remembering to put the seat back down all the time, another said he does it because in grade school, he was embarassed to use the urinals and just got in the habit.
It makes no difference to me if a guy stands or sits. What bothers ME is women who, when using public restrooms, hover over the seat instead of sitting, and then don't have the decency to clean up after themselves and leave the urine-spattered seat for the next person to wipe up!! YI-I-I-ICH!!!!!

I'll tell you how it is with me. In my own house, I sit. Everywhere else, I stand. Why? Because it is impossible to avoid splashing whan you go standing up and when you think of what you're going to have to clean up eventually from around the toilet, you get why I don't want to have to deal with it. It has nothing to do with how ***** I am, I'm 45-married 16 years- two kids- the whole thing. It's just less messy and thats all.

I'd just let him go the way he's comfortable.....He grew up doing it so it's became a habit for sure...and he might like not worrying about dirtying up the area or having some splash effect goin on....So long as you know he's straight, I wouldn't worry about a thing. At least you don't have to worry about him leaving the seat up!!

Sorry, I can not help but also add my two cents. I also was brought up to either wipe the toilet after wards or sit and flush, it is much easier to do the latter. I have five son's I wish I could get them to follow that behavior. Be thankful.

My ex fiance was Muslim and he often sat down to pee and he said that it was because of religious reasons, but whether that be the case or not I still wouldn't care. I think some men are more comfortable sitting down when they are home. Its really nothing to worry about.

first of all knocking is always polite,
second I am really lazy and sometimes sit down to pee because standing is so energy consuming.
It would only freak me out if I walked in the bathroom and my wife was peeing standing up
