Does Captain Jack Sparrow remind anyone else of Tommy Cooper?

Johnny Depp has admitted that he based the character on Keith Richards. Cant see the Tommy Cooper reference myself. Keith Richards should have appeared in Pirates II but for falling out of a tree, now that he has recovered, has said he will be turning up in the third Pirates film as Jack Sparrows dad.

Now that you mention it, every bad impression of Jack Sparrow that I've heard always ends up sounding just like Tommy Cooper. I'd never noticed that until now.

He may well have been based on Keith Richards, with a touch of Pepe le Peu ( except Elizabeth soo wants Jack and noone ever wanted Pepe.) But even though it's not intentional the voice is definitely Tommy Cooper - esque.

Captain Jack Sparrow is based on Kieth Richards (Rolling Stones) and Pepi Le Pew (the french skunk from Looney Tunes)

He's SUPPOSED to be based on Keith Richard (Rolling Stones) but he does slur his words a bit like Tommy - but you can see that Keith may be portrayed in that way too (or anyone else too fond of booze). If he starts to wear a fez in the next film, I'll agree with this suggestion

I think your refering to voice of jack sparrow, yes if this was a turkish setting and johnny depp was wearing one of those red hats, with a bit of arm movement, i think the resemblance as in the 'voice' would be simular.
