Does anyone in here us a sleep apnea machine?
I have sleep apenia, and I am suppose to be using the sleep machine but my wife says no because she is afraid water is going to get on the carpet. I told her the doctor recommended me using it, she says that I do not need it. I know that I do, but she is afraid water will spill out.
Does anyone else have this problem?

TALK ABOUT A REVERSAL OF A SITUATION! MY WIFE TOOK ME SCREAMING IN DENIAL, THAT I HAD A PROBLEM TO THE SLEEP LAB IN THE FIRST PLACE, BECAUSE SHE ACTUALLY LOVED ME AND DESIRED THAT I WOULD REMAIN AROUND WITH HER FOR QUITE A FEW MORE YEARS! IT WAS SHE WHO INSISTED THAT I GET OVER THE MINOR INCONVENENCE OF THE CPAP MACHINE! SHE SUPPORTS THIS HARD HEADED FOOL OF A HUSBAND AND WASHES OUT THE HUMIDIFIER WEEKLY FOR ME! BECAUSE SHE ACTUALLY LOVES ME AND DESIRES THAT I SHOULD LIVE! THE CPAP MACHINE IS NOT A TRENDY DAMN TOY, AN ACCESSORY TO SET ON ONES MATCHING ETHAN ALLEN END TABLES, IT IS A PRESCRIBED MEDICAL DEVICE INTENDED TO SAVE YOUR LIFE! PERIOD!
NOW IF YOUR WIFE WISHES TO CASH IN ON YOUR LIFE INSURANCE EARLY AND SAVE THE CARPET, YOU ARE WELL ON THE WAY! SLEEP APNEA CAN AND MAY LEAD TO DEATH ! JUST THIS WEEK SOME NATIONAL FIGURE DIED OF "SLEEP APNEA".
GET WHAT THE DOCTOR PRESCRIBED JUST AS YOU WOULD A PILL OR A SHOT! YOUR WIFE HAS NO SAY IN HOW LONG YOUR LIFE SHOULD BE!
THE CPAP MACHINE WILL GIVE YOU A BETTER OUTLOOK ON LIFE, YOU WILL NOT NOD OFF IN THE AFTERNOON HOURS. YOU WILL FEEL YOUNGER I PROMISE YOU THAT YOU WILL FEEL BETTER ALL OVER! SOMETHING MIGHT EVEN HAPPEN THAT YOUR WIFE WILL NOTICE!!!!!
SLEEP WELL,
APS
NOTE FROM MY WIFE TO YOURS:
"SINCE GETTING THE CPAP MACHINE NO WATER HAS GOTTEN ON THE BEDROOM CARPET, WITH PROPER USE OF THE DEVICE THERE SHOULD NO PROBLEM" - ES

Yes, I do have sleep apnea and use a CPAP machine. Water will NOT spill out of it. If that is a concern, you can use it without filling up the water. It will just make your throat kinda dry. It is important that you use it though, because your organs are not getting any rest. You are at a high risk to have a stroke and other health problems. Please take this problem seriously. They are just starting to really be able to diagnose sleep apnea. This can be a major health issue though! Besides, you will feel a lot better during the day. Good luck!

I have sleep apnea and have used a C-PAP for many years. The water will NOT spill. The water is used to keep your nostrils from becoming too dry. I keep my bedroom about 60 degrees, and had water drip into my nose. What was wrong was the heated water caused condensation. After I wrapped the hose, I never had another problem.
It does take some getting used to though. Sometimes I toss and turn, and it makes the headpiece to move. Then I wake up to reposition it. It took about 4-6 months to become adjusted.

I dont think your wife is very intelligent, her priorities are stuffed, she obviosly cares more about the carpet than you. unless she is qualified to make the decision about sleep apnea and what is needed to relieve the problem tell her to go jump. People die from that condition so it's extremely important you use the machine accordingly. By the way it wont leak but if it does place it in a tray that will hold any spilt water.

I don't have this problem, but I know someone who does. He uses the machine and has said that it has made a huge difference for him. He hasn't said anything about water getting on the floor or anyplace else. I'm guessing that you could place it on top of something that is waterproof. That way you don't have to worry about the carpet. She should be more concerned about your well being rather than the carpet.

Would your wife prefer you dead or a wet carpet? People who have this problem absolutely needs this machine to keep them alive should someone stop breathing while asleep... Have you noticed her taking out life insurance policies on you lately? Watch your back and sleep with one eye open.. I can't imagine any spouse even thinking like that.

OH MY GOD!!!!! You are suffering from sleep apnea and your wife is worried about the damn carpet??!?!?!?!?!?!? How selfish is that!?!??!?!?!?!!?
I haven't gotten any water on the carpet with my CPAP machine. My wife is happy with it because I don't snore or take naps in the middle of the day anymore.
Tell your wife to get her head out of her *** and care about important thing. Jesus - that's got me pissed right now. . . . .

Tell her that the water in your machine is Distilled water in a sealed chamber. Even if it gets out, it will evaporate without leaving stains or marks. She is being obstructive to your well being, and you can always sleep somewhere else. B.
