I just had mine out Sept.1. It was not fun. I thought it should be easy. I was told it is a simple proceedure. Which it is, I just could not even drink water for a week and had to stay in the hospital for a week until I could get the water down. Then for a week after , I could only sip water and eat very little chicken noodle soup and saltines. I am glad now that it is over and I am finally able to eat some regular food. Do not try to eat anything bad for you or you will regret that, for sure. Don't smoke , if you do, I think this made my recovery difficult. Watch out for the pain meds. You will need them for the pain, it's just that they constipated me and caused stomach cramping, which is also painful. Most people get through this with no problem. I don't think I was prepared for it. Best of luck to you!!!

    1. How long was your recovery? A week.

    2. How long was the surgery? Not long, I was sleeping!

    3. Was it same day surgery? I stayed overnight.

    4. Have all of your problems been alleviated? Yes.

    5. Are you happy you did it? It was emergency surgery, a major attack, I thought my appendix burst. It hurt soooo bad.

I had my gallbladder removed, They did it immediately because I was in so much pain, the surgery only took about 2 hrs. It took me about a week to start feeling better about two for a full recovery. I would definitely do it again anything is better than that kind of pain. I should also add that I had the laproscopic surgery and really good insurance. Very happy with results don't miss my gallbladder.

I had mine removed. The recovery was not that bad other than being sore. The surgery lasted about an hour. Didn't have any problems during or after the surgery. And yes I am happy I done it. Like I said before the worst part is being sore...

My father and brother each did. Recovery - maye 10 days until they were each able to move and bend as previously. Surgery - couple of hours. Same day -- they each stayed overnight 1 night. Problems alleviated -- yes. My brother's bad gas problem seems to have been fixed, thank goodness. His wife it eternally grateful. Happy -- since neither had a choice, I'm pretty sure they are both happy. You see, each would have died had the surgery not ensued and another attack loomed.

    1) About 2 weeks, but I went back to work in a limited capacity after one week

    2) The surgery lasted about one hour

    3) I had surgery at 10AM and went home about 8PM

    4) Yes, the pain and discomfort is gone

    5) I am happy. I had to adjust my eating slightly, but it is better than the alternative, as eventually it would have stopped working altogether and I would still have to adjust, and I would still have the pain.

that's extremely in all probability something to do with the comparable area. She could have a stone in her trouble-free bile duct, that's left in while the gallbladder is bumped off. it would produce the comparable form of soreness
