What do you all feel about this quote?
I think that a lot of people on this site should read this, and maybe consider it.
"We must learn to live as brothers, or we will die as fools."
Realize, I'm not trying to make you all Buddhists, or Bash Christianity, or waste space with stupid questions, I just want your honest opinions.

sounds familiar
it's not can we win by fighting, it's can we survive if we don't stop fighting and kill each other
we are truly bound by many common things
we have less in difference and more in common than we think
it's religion that champions our differences and make it worth dying for to eliminate an idea or an emotion rather than honoring all life and learning to get along in harmony

It's one thing to quote someone but if we aren't willing to apply it to ourselves than they are just words... so with that in mind I would like to say that it is the most logical thing that I have heard in quite sometime..... it does not matter where one stumbles upon the truth so long as when we do we are able to hold on to it and put it to good use.
We are all fools at one thing or another, but we should at least consider being happy fools.

Well, I'm positive that lots of folk can certainly learn to live as brothers, and still die as fools.

As a Catholic, I have no problem accepting truths no matter where it is found. That is not syncretism or indifferentism. There are truths found in Islam as well.
I would like to hear the reasonable opinions of Islamic imams and Ayatolah's on that quote too.

Luke 6:35
But love your enemies and be kind and do good [doing favors so that someone derives benefit from them] and lend, expecting and hoping for nothing in return but considering nothing as lost and despairing of no one; and then your recompense (your reward) will be great (rich, strong, intense, and abundant), and you will be sons of the Most High, for He is kind and charitable and good to the ungrateful and the selfish and wicked.

It sounds korny but the only possible scenario that I can see a unification of humanity is that we encounter invaders from space. It is funny because we all know of the lesson from the quote but we chose not to use what we learned.

If you call me a fool for the Christ, then a fool I die, but I have the hope of eternal glory. For I would rather live as a fool for the the short time I am on this planet, then to exist for the rest of eternity away from the One who created it all.

I do believe in this statement, however, I also believe that it is impossible to fulfill this perfection of "brotherhood" and "sisterhood" without the power of the Holy Spirit that is God, the God of Israel, of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob who gave us His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ that whosoever believes in Him should not die but instead know everlasting life [And this "brotherhood" and "Sisterhood" that you now speak].
I will further explain that Jesus never forced anyone to choose him and as a believer in Jesus and all that He taught, I am not about to misrepresent His Holy Name by starting now to force people to choose Him.
I simply try to live as He lived, (Stumbling time and again) and share as He shared and then move on, leaving everyone to their own God-given free will to choose Him or deny Him.
If that is the way God did it, who am I to do it any differently?

Yeah it's a real nice sentiment, but xians feel that they have the answer and need to indonctrinate everyone else. I don't hang around the mall asking people if they have realized that god is fake.
