I need help with a paper (Buddhism)?
I am positing that the Bodhisattva ideal is more practical than the Arhat ideal. I need some rebuttals to this point.
Thank you in advance,
Ryan William Murphy

5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoQuestion about the koran, this is a real honest question, not just abuse or stupidity?
What I would really appreciate is an explanation of this verse. (please forgive me if my terminology is incorrect.)
Sura 2:Verse 59
Verily, they who believe (Muslims), and they who follow the Jewish religion, and the Christians, and the Sabeites- whoever of these believeth in God and the last day, and doeth that which is right, shall have their reward with their Lord: fear shall not come upon them, neither shall they be grieved.
Does this mean that Islam teaches all people who believe in one God and a day of Judgement go to heaven?

2 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoTaking back the world for Christianity.?
In response to the large part of Jesus Camp, and my own little paranoias, I want to ask you all a hypothetical question:
Christians: if there was a holy war to remove all non-christians from America, what would you do?
Non-Christians: if the same happened, would you fight to protect the people you loved, or would you stand back and die peacefully.
No, I'm not promoting this kind of thing. No I don't think all christians are war-mongering fools. No, I don't think all these disclaimers should be necassary, but hey, people get really offended and post stupid irrelavant comments if I don't. no I don't want it to happen.
I just want people to think about where they stand.
20 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoTo further my point?
When Dr. King said that we must live like brothers what he meant is that we must love one another, when brothers fight and bicker, rarely is it out of hatered or a wish for harm.
so my question unto all those Christians who still show hatred is this:
"whatever you do unto the least of them, you do unto me.
Whatever you neglect to do unto the least of them, you neglect to do unto me."
why do you hate Jesus, and neglect to love him?
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat do you all feel about this quote?
I think that a lot of people on this site should read this, and maybe consider it.
"We must learn to live as brothers, or we will die as fools."
Realize, I'm not trying to make you all Buddhists, or Bash Christianity, or waste space with stupid questions, I just want your honest opinions.

3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality2 decades agoWhy do people think Satanists are evil?
Now, I'm a Buddhist, but I know a few Satanists, and theyre not evil at all. obviously, I disagree on some things with them, and there are assholes like satanluverboy out there, but I've noticed a lot of people convinced that Satanists are evil, and I wondered why.
22 AnswersReligion & Spirituality2 decades agoBuddhist offerings?
Namaste everyone,
I've noticed something very strange lately.
To begin with, I have always been a very heavy eater, I would literally have to eat 4-5 meals a day, or I would be to hungry to concentrate on anything.
A few weeks ago, I began to offer part of every meal I ate to hungry ghosts, hell beings and the like so they would suffer less.
In the past week, I have continued this practice, but now, I only need one meal a day to sustain myself.
