I am a Christian but my boyfriend is a blend of Pagan/Buddhist. I have found that most of the Buddhist teachings do not contradict the Bible at all but actually support the commandments God gives on how to live our lives. It is a very peaceful religion but can be frustrating for someone (especially in our Western world) because one always seems so far from enlightenment and true contentment.

It is a very passive religion with great moral values. Buddha was not God but simply a great teacher to lead us towards the purification of the soul through reincarnations so that we can learn from our mistakes. It is actually a very private religion and you need not go to the temple, but can worship with you heart and mind. We use statues of Buddha, not for worship but as a place to focus our minds on attaining spiritual purification. Many teachings of Buddha (Siddharta Gautama) are like the teachings of Christ and like the Christians, Buddhism has many legends that are not true. The sutras of Buddha were written in Sanscrit and few Buddhists learn that ancient language, so errors are very likely. Buddha himself went through many incarnations before he became enlightened. I was born Christian but became Buddhist as a young boy because I felt so peaceful with the faith.

I don't know much about Buddhism, but I've noticed that Buddhists always seem so much more content and at peace with themselves and the world than members of other religions.

A path to GOD,through knowledge. Buddha is an enlighened being, if you need wisdom, ask buddha. I prefer Siddha Yoga,it incorporates all five basic pathways to GOD. my path is Bakti,LOVE. Namaste

No wacky superstition, so I don't know where that idea comes from, no complex theology or deities, no religious crap getting rammed down people's throats just a path to living a better and more fulfilling life-it's hard to find fault with it.

I am becoming more and more interested in it as time goes on, and wouldn't be surprised to find myself a Buddhist in 10 years. But I'm not going to rush into it like some American movie star.

well i think it is good. we shouldn't really say anything bad, since all it teaches ppl is to meditate and get closer to god. i think it is good to have an interest on all religions, coz then u can take all the good things from the 6 major things and live a good life. some ppl have a big ego and dont want to learn abt other things, well one religon where there is nothing to take from is islam.

I have no problem with Buddhism, in fact I think it's a very good religion that teaches you to believe in yourself. Gives you more character values.

I think that they are peaceful, and have ideas that we could all learn from. Maybe a bit dramatic at times with the whole no killing a living creature, especially as hard as it is today...but still worthy of respect in all walks of life.

I don't think any religion is wrong or right as long as you believe in something that's what matters. everyone should have something to hold on too
