Question about the koran, this is a real honest question, not just abuse or stupidity?

What I would really appreciate is an explanation of this verse. (please forgive me if my terminology is incorrect.)

Sura 2:Verse 59

Verily, they who believe (Muslims), and they who follow the Jewish religion, and the Christians, and the Sabeites- whoever of these believeth in God and the last day, and doeth that which is right, shall have their reward with their Lord: fear shall not come upon them, neither shall they be grieved.

Does this mean that Islam teaches all people who believe in one God and a day of Judgement go to heaven?

    Actually that's Surah 2 verse 62.

I think you may be on to something. Try reading the verse in context with the whole Surah. That is the only way to read and understand the Qur'an correctly.

Maybe what God is trying to tell us all is that if you do good in this life, you will be rewarded regardless what your faith is. So just keep on doing good deeds.

At the end of the day Allah knows best.

It is true that these people will have no fear at all. But if you find a higher version of a computer we tend to use the latest version. Why we do not stick on to the old windows format? All the version were good and the best for that period of time but now it is no good because they stand corrupted by human error. If someone is following a older version of faith that do not answer his real questions about faith is like someone who simply walks like a sheep in a flock without knowing where is he heading for will only find at the end that he lost the precious moments of his life following simply corrupted versions of faith. I like to appreciate here that all faiths are from the same God but with the time they were corrupted by the human beings. So what is wrong to adopt a better version and corrupt free Koran as a good option to start with.

You have quoted a false translation of the Quran from a King James Biblical Version of the Quran that you find on all Muslim websites because they are impostors and traitors to Islam.

There never was a Jewish religion and there is no Arabic word in the Quran that translates "Jewish" or Jew, and there is no Arabic word in the Quran that translates "Christians".

There are no Jews and/or Christians in the Quran.

The word in the Quran that is falsified to say Jews is "Yahuudi" which can only be honestly translated "Penitents" and which is the name that was given to the Children of Israel under Musa when tribalism was dropped and Yahuudi became one peole.

The word in the Quran that is falsified to say "Christians" is Nazaaraa, which can only be honestly translated to say "Helpers", and this is the name that is given to the Children of Israel who followed Isa al Masih ibn Mariam or Isa the Christ, son of Mariam, and this "Isa" is also falsified to say "Jesus", which is false and misleading and null and void.

Read The Age Of Reason for a clearer understanding, and dont let the fake sheikhs and the quack doctorates of Islamic websites and universities pull the wool over your eyes.

Christianity is not monotheistic but poly/trinitheistic and pagan.

Christians are therefore not people of the book and the Bible is not a book but a collection of books and a corruption of Scripture to enhance Greek mythology.

Christianity never had a prophet come to Christians and never received revelation.

Only the Children of Israel are People of the Book.

It implies that anyone who believes in God and the Day of judgremnt will be allowed to enter heaven, but it does not mean they will not be punished before they enter heaven. Every atom's weight of evil will be put to justice and i believe this will be done by either putting someone in hell for a temporary time or maybe not allowing him to enter one of the higher places in heaven. Peace be upon u and dont listen to anti Islamic fanatics. Keep searching for the truth - u will find it with god's will - Thank u.

Yes! we don't have a condition of religion for salvation...and some Muslims like those i associate with say that this includes Buddhists etc as they too have a belief in higher power (for us this is God) and a form of judgement day.....But who knows where Gods boundaries really end for salvation as we Muslims a told in the Qur'an that God is most merciful.

These are the Christians and Jews that followed their Prophets (ie. those who followed Jesus before Muhammad came). However if you heard of the Prophet Muhammad and rejected him this verse does not apply.

of course not, but those who believed in God before Islam and those who join islam after the mission of the prophet will go to heaven (peace be upon him)

It means they are not to be harmed by Muslims.

Muslims are required to protect "people of the book."

But, that does not apply to "people of the book" who try to murder them or support those who are trying to murder them and steal their property.

Unlike Christians, most Muslims will not claim to know God's will. Asking a Muslim to tell you who is going to heaven is pointless since no "good Muslim" would try to answer that question.

I'm not a Muslim, but I am familiar with Islam.

The Ottoman Empire (Muslims) controlled Jerusalem & Palestine for hundreds of years. How do Muslim haters explain how Jews & Christians survived all those years if they were not being protected by Muslims? Or, if they were being forced to convert to Islam?

The summary of this verse which the best i can explain it to u is that Muslims who truly believe in Allah, i mean the true muslims will be the only community who will taste the sweetness of heaven. christians, jewish, hindus and any religion other than islam, the people of those relgions will surely taste the fire of hell....u knoe what the biggest unforgiven sin is to associate partner to Allah!! and this sin is unforiven....MAY ALLAH GUIDE ALL THE PEOPLE ON THE PATH OF ISLAM....AMEEN!!

I am not a Muslim, so my interpretation might be wrong.

It was always my belief that Islam says that believers in Bible and Torah will also go to heaven.
