Wrestling shows getting too negitive?

OK I'm older but I remember when Wrestling was more of a ballance between good guys and bad guys. Now even the good guys are bad and ever single match is won by someone cheating one way or another. This frustrates the hell out of me because I really really like wrestling but I also really really hate the negitive turn to the shows. Latest example is the new tag team being advertised as coming to WWE with the gang mentality as their "thing". Why can't wrestling just be wrestling without all the other stupid crap? I'm much more intested in seeing people like Chris B. and Ray M. wrestle and have a knock down drag out match without the crap... Does anyone else agree with me or am I just silly and need to find something else to watch?

Update:

OK to the person telling me it's fake. Yes of course I know the matches are predetermined. I don't call it fake because the wrestlers work very hard at what they do and still have very much of a chance to get hurt. That doesn't change the fact that the theme of the entertainment has taken a very negitive turn. Everyone using foul language all the time. Everyone cheating in every match. And just all around pandering to the lowest possible element of society in all cases. Now it is wrestling but that doesn't mean that they need to go out of the way to put out a product that is so completely vile.

To the person suggesting that TNA is better wrestling. I've watched and in many cases I would agree. But they are heading down the same road as wwe they just are not as far down it yet. I guess I may need to just quit watching. Maybe I'll just watch UFC instead.

I quit watching the stuff decades ago. Just ran out of interest and realized how juvenile fans could hurt themselves. But, even without current exposure I think I can answer your question.

When ever you feel the way you do about something, not just wrestling, all you need to do is follow the money. I'll wager the sponsors surveys have indicated that what you are seeing is what the audience wants. The athletes, managers and promoters are paid from sponsor revenue. As such they comply with sponsor demands.

If they fail to comply, or if the audience begins to dwindle the sponsor will take the money and go sponsor something they can get a better return from.

I'm sure it is all in the mighty dollar.

BTW, do you remember Ray Stevens back in the 50s? That guy couldn't figure out whether to wear white trunks or black ones. I think he swapped back and forth 4 or 5 times while I was a fan. Does the current stable have anyone flip flopping all the time???

Not wrestling dude, the good old people at the WWE offices have become so comfortable that storylines that wouldn't even make the shortlist 6 years are now the best they can come up with.

You wanna watch wrestling matches simple, tune into TNA and now Kurt Angle joined them very interesting to watch as a wrestling spectator.

I guess it gets boring watching the same core of popular wrestlers compete against each other all of the time. It's easier to create the non wrestling crap than to put off competitive matches.

the whole point is entertainment. and not to offend, but i doubt wwe cares what the older generation thinks. the money is with the newer one.
