Help...my kid's got morals...he's mad at me...?
I just happened to mention to my son that when he was beaten by a bully(2 grades ahead of him),I paid 20 bucks and 40 cigarettes to have the bully beaten up by someone (similar age difference). He's mad at me now.BTW...the "avenger's" parents got the smokes, the kid got the money.

Yes, and I'm mad at you too!
Why didn't you find a way to help your little son beat up the bully himself? It can be done.
By the way, I had to straighten up and fly right the WHOLE TIME I was raising my daughter! I wasn't able to exhale and finally let the dishes sit in the sink or sleep in a few minutes without guilt until she was safely grown and off to college!
This parenting business is tough!! It sounds like you have a marvelous son, though.
Good luck!

You should have done what my parents did with my "big" brother who is very small in stature. They taught him that you may not win the fight, but you can still win the battle.
He became known for being a bad **s because someone would pick a fight with him and beat him up, then he would dust himself off, go get a baseball bat and clean house.
After the first two fights, no one ever picked on him again. He has to learn to fend for himself and fight his own battles though. Its part of growing up.

Well, you kinda messed up.
Like Rocky said: "I do this for a living and because I have nothing better to offer. But I want you to not have to use your fists to solve your problems. I want you to use your mind."
Next time: don't let your child know you make mistakes.
And if he's got morals, it's because of two reasons: He followed your advice. OR, he saw how wrong you are and decided to go the other way.
Be careful. Kids aren't dumb.

Well it wasn't a legal thing to do.
Wouldn't it have been better to have the boy spend time in juvie and his parents embarassed?
