The first question is did the installer get a permit when they did the installation? If not they should have, and the installation should have been inspected by the authority having jurisdiction in your municipality. If you feel the installation doesn’t met code you need to question the installer on it right now, not in the dead of winter when you will need the heat. If he did not pull a permit and refuses to do so, call your local mechanical inspector. Your HVAC contractor is the one in trouble and not you.

I have a space heater that in the winter when its on leaves moisture marks up the side of my house. If I had a window there it would be on the window. I would call the installer. What were they thinking? I just had a new stove put in and they used a Grey flexible gas tube. They they also used a yellow flexible pipe when they put in our out gas line to the pool heater. as long as the flex is covered with that plastic coating Its fine its the uncoated flex lines that are not code in most places now

if they vented it out a side wall you must have gotten a 90+ furnace. they take most of the heat out of the exhaust and should not steam. but i think it is code to be 2 feet from window. also the plastic covered flex gas pipe is ok in most states. you may check that by calling your gas provider.

#2 you did get a contract with your contractor ?
#3 you didn't call Uncle Billy bob's heating and lawn care, right?
#4 your contractor did get all the necessary permits ?
#5 your contractor is licensed and has insurance ?
#6 do you need to call you states contractor board or attorney?
