This time it won't happen. Most of the public is on to the Republican's dirty tricks, and Dems such as Jane Harmon and Howard Dean have snappy sound bites that encapsulate a plan of action. See the democrat site for an actual platform and realistic agenda!

It's possible. But highly unlikely this time.

All the most recent polls (and this is before the Foley incident) show Democrats gaining. Hell, Ford is even ahead in Tennessee (Frist's open seat). In Indiana, Democrats have widened their leads to double digits or close in all three of the competitive house races.

I will guarantee you this though. In one week to 10 days, the terror level will be raised to orange, and we'll be told that there is strong evidence of a threat against America. Rove can't resist that one.

I don't think it will work though.

They are imminently capable of doing it. If they concentrate hard enough, they will be able to not stay on message, and will succeed in losing again. If anybody is skilled at losing, it's the democrats.

It's always a possibility. But I hope not.

I vote Republican these days, but I have no illusions about the competence or sincerity of either party.

Politicians are often scummy people. Sorry, but that's what I think. Maybe it's the positions they find themselves in, but no one forces them to run.

then blame a vast right conspiracy for voting republicans in power, dems wouldnt be able to amass all the felons, and illegals voting to get their guys in.
