Help, my PC crushes and it wont start. i tried formatting and reinstalling XP but nothing happens..?

My P.C. won't start. I tried Formatting it and reinstalling Windows XP but it wont install?

We had a power failure in ur house so my P.C. shutsdown improperly. It happens twice because of the typhoon here in Manila. When everything is back to normal, after the typhoon and we have our Power back, I opened my PC and it seems that theres something wrong. My LAN card suddenly crash and i cant connect to the internet, and i restarted it but it wont start.

I tried formatting, and install XP but after regestering components, it restarted again, and then it wont start.

it wont even boot from CD even though the bootable CD is inserted and first booted the CD ROM. after it detects the HD and other devices, its just a black screen.

i also tried booting other hard disk with OS XP, it shows the loading screen of windows and after a sec it restart.

im thinking this is due to the improper shutdown of my PC cause of the power failure

i dont know what to replace is it the motherboard

Well the big problem here is that your computer was shutdown as a result of a power failure. In my experience, a lot of thing may be wrong.

    1. Your LAN card, is that a 3rd party LAN card that you bought or is it integrated into the motherboard itself? What you can do is buy a 3rd party LAN card and try to install it in an empty PCI slot. If the 3rd party card works, then you can conclude that the motherboard's LAN component is screwed up.

    2. When you reformatted your PC, did it successfully install? If not, then your hard drive might be dead. What kind do you have? Do you have a Western Digital? Those thing have been known to suffer from "Sudden Death Syndrome". Dunno if they have ever corrected that.

    3. Another thing, if that is not the case, is your memory. The shortage could of killed your memory. Since you do not have enough memory, that will trigger reboots and such.

    4. Finally, after all of those have been tried out, then it may be time to get a new comp.

    Hope this helps!

Yes, the computer is very much wasted now due to the improper shutdown because of the typhoon. I had a similar incident before and had to get a new computer.

This article will show you what you need to do to protect the new computer you're going to buy.
