Ignorance is bliss? A fundamentalist poem for those exempt from science class?

How happy is the moron,

He doesn't give a damn!

I wish i was a moron,

My God! perhaps I AM!

    if you are going to repeat that usually mis-used quote, at least use it right.

    It is from Thomas Gray's “On a Distant Prospect of Eton College,” and the line goes “Where ignorance is bliss, / ‘Tis folly to be wise.’”

    It is not a comment that it is nice somehow to be clueless, only that it ain't good to be smart in a time or place where idiocy is prized.

    This is misused as often as it's 'cousin'- "a little learning is a dangerous thing", which is used to say that it is bad to learn stuff, while the true quote is from Alexander Pope and goes:

    "A little learning is a dangerous thing;

    Drink deep, or taste not the Pierian spring:

    There shallow draughts intoxicate the brain,

    And drinking largely sobers us again."

    Nice work there, Cornholio. I'm glad that you've finally gotten something useful out of school. Find any TP yet?

    There is truth to that. However, in most things I always want to know, regardless of whether it's good or bad.

    You made me giggle, but it really is an insult. I'm surprised the conservative cohort hasn't collectively cursed your carcass.
