They died, eventually. Jefferson and Adams became Presidents, Franklin was an Ambassador, Hancock became a Governor. Many had successful careers. Ceasar Rodney, a True Hero, rode all the way to Philadelphia from Rhode Island to vote while he wasquite ill. When the votes were cast, he rode all the way back home and died. The man did his duty.

The signers didn't get punished because the United States won the war over the British. All of them eventually died, however.

You could not declare yourself an atheist and still be accepted in upper society back then; still hard today. None later admitted to this, so it is safely assumed all believed in a Creator, maybe not in the biblical reasoning though. Many people believe in God but not in religion, then and now

now let's look at this--they signed the Declaration of Independence in 1776 and it is now 2006, I would say that they all died

They then became involved in writing the constitution and forming the new government after the British got scared and ran home.

Well, at this point in history, they are all dead. :) Just kidding. Some of them died in the revolution, others became state leaders. You can look them all up while in Boston. It is pretty neat, by the way. :)

Most of them lost everything they had, were killed, had their family killed...

There is a web-site (whose name I don't know) that describes in each detail their various fates...

  • I think they all eventually died and went to Heaven.
