Creative ideas for marriage proposal.......?

Question

My cousin is going to ask his girlfriend to marry her. He doesn't want it to be public and he wants to do it as soon as possible without spending anymore money (he's broke after buying the ring). They live on a farm with horses, and he can only come up with putting the ring (in the box) inside the oats and when she's scooping the oats out of the barrel to feed the horses, she would find it and then he would propose. He says he can't think of anything else but I can tell he's clueless as what would be good and original. Any really creative ideas? Note: he doesn't want it done in front of anyone, just the two of them.

Tell your cousin to halt right there! Don't let him propose with that "scoop" thing. One of the most low-key, cutest, and cheapest ideas I know of is to make a scrapbook of all the things they've done so far, pictures and all. But leave the last few pages blank and on the page that comes before those blank pages, have a picture or drawing of your cousin proposing to his girlfriend (if he wants, he can put a bubble in there of her replying "yes!"), as if this is foretelling the future. When he gives the scrapbook to her (keeping in mind the setting in which he gives it should be beautiful, but doesn't have to be public), he should have her look through it. When she gets to the proposal page, he should actually propose to her and, afterwards, tell her that the last blank pages are for the wonderful times they're going to have in the future.

Sounds like a good way to be scooping through horse manure looking for a ring, to me. 

It's a farm. It probably has a porch.  Porches have nice breezes.  He could install a set of really special hand made wind chimes, and hang the ring from it, so that when she goes for a closer look, she sees a sparkly surprise.

Beats waiting two days behind a horse with a shovel.

tell him to take her and the horses for a horse back ride, go to a romantic spot and stop and have a little picknick and have the ring tied around a glass and hand her the glass with some wine in it. wish him luck

1) Pop it in his mouth. 1 French kiss later it is in hers.
2) Use several strands of  heavy string to thread through the ring and around his middle. "Don't string me along - take this ring and wear it!"
3) Tie it to the bottom of the string and tie the string into multiple knots. Tie the last one to his hair. "You have me tied up in knots."
4) Tie a string to it and then tie it around his ear. "How do you like my new ear ring?"
5) Tie it to the steering wheel before the next date, "Care to steer through life with me?"
6) (My favorite - I own stock in the company.) Melt some chocolate kisses/bars into a soft enough state to fold it over the ring. Put a Hershey kiss on top. "Let's kiss our way into this".

He could make her a scrap book with pictures of the two of them together, he could include a poem, and anything syntamental, at the end of the scrap book..he could paste a homemade card that says...will you marry me?...I think that would be soo sweet.

i wouldn't put that in the oats...it's bound to be overlooked and lost (possibly eatten).  just tell him to make her a candle lit dinner one night and put the ring on the plate (like when it's time for desert)

aww thats sooo sweet!!!!   gotta luv that!!  i think your cousin should wait till dinner and put it in her wine glass!!!!

oh and try to get some of those lil pill like tyhings that make drinks fizz....tro hide it at first to make for a better surprise!!!
