Racial Intolerance.?

Ok folks i have been reading these boards for a few days now and find myself sickened by certain attitudes displayed on here. Now i will ask you this simple question.

When will people learn to accept that people are people and not defined by race colour or religion?

Yes there are bigots in all the different areas of government, religion and region but why do you feel the need to follow thier lead? Its as if you are sheep.

Racism is not big and its not clever. Its the sign of a closed mind.

Its time folk learnt to open thiers.Do you agree with this?

My mind is always open to read, listen, and pursue new things.Hate has never been one of them.I don't use race hate as a base for my answers or my questions.Racism comes from BOTH sides of the immigration issue, its no more right to call white people names as it is to call black, brown, red, yellow or any color in between names. Why do people think its alright to call people red necks, hillbilly's,poor white trailer trash, honky, whitey, etc and not be called on their racism. Its wrong from both sides. If you don't have a viable argument for your position people resort to name calling and then the scream racists the loudest. It should all be stopped but it wont be .There are racists on both sides of the illegal alien issue. Both are sure they are right.

Chory T.......answer is a prime example of how a little knowledge, combined with his racism, can be an outright bastardization of the truth..His statement is something he made up,of confused points that he evidently didn't understand so he made them up as he wanted them to be.and its based in his race hate of white people.

    And that folks is racism.

I have no problem with any race, creed or colour.

I do however have major problems with inequality, specifically that native British people are being put second by their own government because we have to be sensitive to the needs of immigrants who do not give a damn about ours.

Perhaps when attitudes from those that come here and whine that we are the ones who must adapt stops, then so will the justified outrage of those who were born here and like Britain British.

I would not go to another country and insist that things are changed to suit me because their culture offends me, that's just plain bloody rude. I'll be damned if I will change my culture to appease the delicate feelings of someone who doesn't give a toss about those of the native people here.

Of course - unfortunately as you can see from the answers that you receive the world if full of bigots especially the world of Y! Answers.

I think it is worse at weekends when the children are off school - or at least I hope that it is the children and not the Teachers!

I hate racism, ageism, sexism and indeed any other 'ism that feeds of blind uneducated prejudice.

All power to you my friend - and don't let 'em grind you down.

By the way I live in a town which has a very high population of first, second and third generation immigrants, and believe it or not it has a mixuture of all ages, sexes and religions too... this is for those idiots who seem to suggest that only people from the "White Highlands of the Home Counties/Wales etcetera" would hold these views. How can people believe racist poison? I suspect it must take a very special type of person...... for example uneducated, uninformed and immature.

I think by your statement alone you are not being big or clever and have a closed mind! Yes those people may be racist, or have views which upset people, but we are supposed to be a democracy, where you can think what you want and be able to express your views without fear. Some people are small minded , racist, judgemental and don't think about what they say. The whole point is, is that they/we have the freedom to do so.

I have read some of the answers and clearly there are 1 or 2 morons about, who cannot see past their own prejudices, but with people who live and let live, who can have an adult discussion about the differences amongst the human race, without judging, the world will change (slowly but surely).

Bottom line is democracy is freedom and gives people the right to be morons if they wish. We just have to hope these people choose to open their hearts and minds a little more, as variety is the spice of life!! Love see's no colour, and only love is real.

My only issue with racism and religion on here is that there's too much.

I'm not racist, i have black and indian very close friends yet i find their families are far more racist than anyone i know.

The Indian family hate Pakistanis to the degree they would move house if some moved next to them and all hell let loose recently when a female black girl i know brought home a white boyfriend.

Certainly here in England i would think people view most racism coming from whites to others but it is everywhere and in some families extremely strong.

On the subject of Religion, i have absolutely no beliefs what so ever, i don't belive in God, i belive it is all complete and utter rubbish yet some people find it very hard to let me do this.

There are people on here who are religeous who feel the need to preach to everyone.

The amount of so called questions which i look at that just turn out to be a religeous rant is getting out of hand.

I don't want to know and i just don't care, they can belive in what they want but just shut up about it.

    And that's my rant over.lol

Racism is a form of tribalism. We're happy for people from our own extended family to share our hunting grounds, but we don't want any outsiders getting in on the act.

When society is working well, we can afford to adopt a more liberal attitude. As soon as things start to go wrong (unemployment, terrorism, violence, crime) we go back to our caveman attitude. This isn't helped by the gutter press.

The sad thing is that England is a country of immigrants. No-one knows what happened to the people who built Stonehenge. They disappeared when the Celts came. The Angles and Saxons are far more recent immigrants - coming over here stealing all our jobs and woad about 1500 years ago. They were preceded by the Romans and followed by Danes, Normans, Jews, Flemings, Hugenots, Jamaicans, Pakistanis, Poles and Lithuanians.

Show me a racist, I'll show you someone with a Balinese granny.

I agree that racism is bad, but I don't agree that opposition to illegal immigration which ruins schools for our own children is a sign of racism. The economic impacts, and the obvious degradation of education and health care benefits for our own people in areas where illegal immigrants concentrate are huge.

Racism is wrong! Before we get confused though, those terrorists, Muslims, are racists. That is exactly why they did what they did and are continuing. I say it is time for those peaceful Muslims to stand up and take the forefront in doing away with terrorists. Illegals, I don't care where they are from, what color of skin they have or what religion they are, they need to shown the door and forcefully removed. It isn't being closed minded, I am merely seeking self preservation for me and my children. Those that cloud these issues with speeches of racism are only trying to blind the rest of us into thinking we most be more generous and understanding. We have been and they have taken advantage of us at every turn. Those of Muslim faith who are against terrorism where are you and what are you doing about it and those for the rights of illegal immigration, what about my rights and my families rights. We work hard and are taxed to death so those that don't belong can have a free ride.

never is truer word spoken... i agree, you definitely ain't no sheep, following the multitude, and i feel just as strongly as you, will there ever be a day when a person is not hated, because of the colour of their skin, when will skin colour be no more significant than the colour of our eyes, God created all races, who are we to criticize his creation... to all those who face racism in daily life, must be sure good to know that you are fighting their corner....it's people like you who make a change in this world, no matter how small, it's progress.

Though I agree with the gist of your post I can't say I agree about people not being defined by religion. It is who they are and it is a choice we ALL make ( for example atheism, while not exactly a religion in every sense is nevertheless certainly a belief system. The person CHOOSES to announce to the world that they believe that there is no god despite the fairly obvious fact that that belief is intellectually unsustainable. It not only defines them--they themself chose the definition.
