puss filled bumps around genitals?
a friend of mine was talking about it the other day, just wondering if it was an std or could it be cysts or boils?
she also said that when she pops them, its thick, and it leaves a scar and hurts... it just seems weird to me, because she tells me things in confidence but i dont know what to tell her it is.. i told her to go to the dr but she said she went and the dr told her that it was just insect bites...
i think she said she gets them just every once and a while... so im guessing like once every two months

It is important to go to the doctor. depending what you mean my around the genitals. could be herpes, or if in the groin area (upper thighs) it could be hidradenitis suppurativa which is a skin condition not caused by an STD.

Puss filled bumps are a good sign of genital herpes. But, that doesn't necessarily mean it is. It may be boils or cysts too.
It's good you referred her to a doctor. They would be able to properly diagnose her and offer treatment if necessary.

either genital herpeise or acne depends if you've had sexual encounter with someone recently that must have had it but more likely to be acne, you might want to consider seeing a doctor for that... although if its on the skin its acne if its on the tip well you have genital warts or herpeise... but consult a a doctor and I highly recommend you don't go have sexual inter course with someone because it is contagious whether the bumps are there or not... good luck

It could be any one of those things. I have known from experience that staph infection can occur in the lower regions and appear as boils. If her doctor is saying that it is just bug bites then maybe that it what it is. I would want to know how the bugs were biting her and what kind they were. Skin lyce can cause boils and itch and are very contagious. A good Primary care physicans knows all these things and I would trust in his diagnosis but you always have the option of seeking a second opinion if they continue.

how often does she get this? ALl the time or just breakouts once in a while? Sounds like herpes to me. they start like blisters then get puss filled and they hurt and leaves scars. She should go to her GYN to see what is up

Could be a lot of different things ranging from irritation from shaving, rash from new laundry soap, to the more serious that may require a doctor to take a peak. Sounds like nothing, but you can never tell.

She might have gential herpes, especially if they are reoccuring. Tell her to contact her doctor and stop popping them on her own. She may be doing more harm than good.
