What's the easiest way to temporary restrict internet speed?
I'm looking for a simple free program that restricts internet up/download speed. so I can upload large amount of data, over a period of time without interfere with my housemate playing games online.
.... It's possible. there are some download/usage monitor program that does it and cost $$$. but I just need a simple program...
hehe.. why can't i answer my own question? anyway... a program called speed limiter works well

Not happening. Are you using a router? If you are then get 2 seperate modems, however if your on DSL then your roommates gaming speed should matter. And actually the gaming takes more bandwith then anything.

People here kill me. They say it's not possible, etc.
Depending on the type of router you have (linksys, Dlink)
you can edit the QoS within the setup screen of the router.
If your router does not have this option, then:
Find a program that will setup QoS (Quality of Service) for you.
