Ever fill your own printer ink cartridges?

Or have them filled? We have a kiosk at our mall that does it. Does the ink last as long as a new cartridge? How much does it cost? How many times can you refill the same cartridge?

What's the name of the place? Island Inkjet?

They have franchises all over the place. You can go to their web site for more information.

If this is the company you are talking about, they have a 30 day money back guarantee.

I haven't tried the place yet.

It is best to refill your cartridges before all the ink runs out, because air gets in the cartridge and dries and cakes the ink.

I have done it for years, until I switched to a laser.

IF you use a good grade of ink, I have found that about 5 to 7 times on color and up to 10 on the black with most quality printers. On the cheapies, don't bother. The main part of the cartridge cost is the cartridge itself, and the cheapies just don't use quality cartridges!!

And YES, I refill the toner cartridges for my laser also!

I dont use inkjet cartridges...... I have a continuous ink system on my epson, in uk terms, 40 pence a cartridge full of ink....just put "Continuous Ink System " in as a search term, never buy or refil another cartridge, save so much on carts its embarrasing.

Its really easy but you want to wear something you can get ink on. The black is easiest and your printer may not acknowledge the in ans say the ink is low when it is not.The color is easy too but it cost more to buy the colors than the black.we refill the black about every month and yes you can keep filling up the same cartridge. The colors need a refill more often. We pay about 9.00 for a big thing of black and the colors are about 20.00 and up.We have a lexmark "all in one"

No; my husband always buys the snap-in cartridges. He doesn't think it's worth the mess or hassle to refill them. I never knew you could have someone else refill them for you. Sounds cheaper... but at the mall? That sounds expensive and kind of a drive to do something that mundane.

I once bought a kit and try to refill my own HP cartridges. They didn't work very well at all. I gave up trying after 5 or 6 of them just didn't produce very good results.

you need to be careful doing that if any dirt or anything else gets into the cartridge it can damage your printer heads then you would need to replace them & that will cost more than a new ink cartridge.

You got to try it to decide it. I recommend don't bother to refill Epson - compatible cartridges are chip and there is not great succes rate for refill. All other printer makes are easy to refill.

That is a difficult question to answer. It really is hard to say, depending on the amount of ink and how long it will take to drain
