A goon is a thug or a hoodlum, hired to intimidate or injure someone. It could also be a stupid person.

goon is commonly used as an insult but not to be taken literal. It means ugly person.

Lots of things, Id suggest looking at wikpedia. It depends on how its used in a sentence, however i typically eqate it to a thug.
