What are your top 5 scariest movies of all time?

I want some movies that will make me want to sleep with the light on...thanks! If you have any good websites with lists of scary movies, that would be helpful too.

1: The Haunting (original version, not the recent CGI travesty) - no blood, little visual effects, scary as Hell.

2: Don't Look Now - put me off visiting Venice for life.

3: Halloween - forget the sequels, the original is the daddy.

4: Ghostwatch - a BBC Halloween special which was presented as a live broadcast with Michael Parkinson in the studio and Sarah Greene on location at a haunted house in the suburbs. It was in the form of such shows as Springwatch but very slowly escalated into pure horror ending with Greene apparently dead and Parky seemingly possessed by the spirit of a child killer. It was so disturbing that at least one viewer killed themselves as a result of watching the show. Now THAT's scary. I watched it from about half an hour into the show and thought that it was for real. I was so upset by the end that I relaxed by watching:

5: The Fog: still scary after all these years despite its effect being lessened if you watch Ghostwatch first. Phantom leper pirates with sharpened hooks are no match for a possessed Parky.

It depends on what scares you! if out and out gore scares you more than psychological stuff the list will be different so some scary movies are not scary to some people but pant wetting for others, here is a list of a few good scary movies but for different reasons:

The Exorcist (religous demonic possession horror)

Dawn of the Dead (zombies can be scary and either the original or the remake will do)

Jaws (scared a lot of people from going near the sea)

Salems Lot (Vampire horror from Stephen King)

    Event Horizon (Sci-Fi Horror)

but like anything personal taste will play a large part in whats scares you.

The Sixth Sense: Couldn't sleep for two weeks with the light off when I first saw it in the theater. More of a psychological thriller.

    The Exorcist the first one.

    The Omen the original.

The Japanese have great scary movies. Heard Dark Water was pretty good and Ju On (American version, The Grudge, came after.)

Oh yeah, just thought of The Shining, the one with Jack Nicholson and The Others with Nicole Kidman.

Any ghost ones, the serial killers and gross ones aren't really scary to me.
