the best anime i've watched is my recommendation: Slam-Dunk

it's all about basket ball, doesnt matter if u like the sport or not( actually i hated basket ball until i watched that anime). it's very inspiring.....

a guy called sakuragi hanamichi starts to play basketball to impress a cute girl(well, after being dumped 50 times in junior high), and never walks free again. He joined the team and seemed helpless, but after training he might just be good enough to help Shohoku (the high school sakuragi attends)to the national level…

oh, and the songs of the show is ownage as well, very good punk rock and stuff(even it's all in japanese)

just adding a bit: all my friends that have watched this, think that it's better than dragon ball series ("THE SHI-T" in japan when it came out), and a lot of them are japanese

it totally kicks a-ss, naruto it just way toooo horrible compared to it

You should check out some of Miyazaki's other animation films such as Princess Mononoke, Howl's Moving Castle and Porco Rosso. :) Princess Mononoke is an adventure/fantasy about a young hero who is on a quest to help defeat darkness. Howl's Moving Castle is about a girl who is cursed with a spell that changes her into an old woman and she has to help out the magician Howl in order to break the spell. Porco Rosso is about a pilot who is a pig and his challenges in avoiding the Italian police.

Try School Rumble. You will never able to predict what the next episode are going to be. The characters of the Aime are excellent, and well design. This Aime is very popular in the whole Japan and spread to most of the Asian countries.
