Why do we have to wear a particular shoe in 10 pinbowling?

No, it's doesn't have anything to do with floor damage.

The reason you need to wear bowling shoes is because they have soft leather on the sole of the shoes. When you make your approach the last step you take as you release the ball is a slide. You can't slide well or not at all in street shoes. If you slide using your street shoes you could stick and fall flat on the boards, with a chance you get hurt and the alley gets sued. Also bowling shoes are "indoor shoes" that are worn only in the bowling alley. Just think of the dirt and crud your street shoes could leave on the boards -especially on rainy or snowy days.

so you don't ruin the approach with rock and whatever else might be on your shoes..and also so you don't stick and fall and hurt yourself ..because bowling shoes have a bottom on them that lets you slide as you release the ball/// i have been bowling for many years and i have work in a bowling alley for a few years and i have scene what street shoes can do to the approach

I think it might be 2 stop marking the alley and stop squeaking, also with normal shoes you might slip

to protect the floor from marks, and protect you from slipping

why do we have to chance fixing the floor if we don't ?

so you dont ruin the floor....
