Why movies played on TV are better than on computer?

When I play movie CDs/DVDs on computer & on TV (DVD Players), I find a lot of difference. The quality when played on TV is far better than on computer.

1)Why is it so ?

2)What is the solution of this?

Yea, if you don't have a good video card, it won't look as good as a tv, if you get a nice video card it will look better than a standard t.v.

I find it difficult to believe that the image on the TV is better then it is on the computer. Since VGA PC monitors have had a high Refresh rate and better image then the non-High Def TVs. your normal TV will have a resolution of around 300X200. Far below the standard of any PC monitor. the DVD Players that you get for your TV have coding in them to help image quality. If your monitor has a S-video port on it. Attach it to your DVD player and see if you have the same quality. I bet you will find the quality better. Now if your computer is not showing all that great of quality then I would look at a better video card and monitor. (Possibly the monitor you have is going out) you may also want to think about switching DVD software on your PC. Older software tends to not have as good of Coding in it.

Modern computer monitors have much better resolution than a standard TV set. TV sets just can't correctly show the entire resolution stored on a DVD, so it has to compensate with lower quality as the factor. The picture is going to look much crisper when viewed on a computer because of this.

Your monitor doesn't have a high enough resolution.

BUY A NEW MONITOR and Graphics Card. Newer monitors have the same if not better resolution then a TV. In fact some monitors are TV's. If your Graphics Card as a TV or S-Video Out Connection you can connect your computer to your TV and view it that way.
