Do people believe in monogamous relationships anymore?

Does it even exist anymore or is it extinct? Do you believe its possible to have a fully honest relationship with someone you truely love?

There are still those who believe in their marriage vows and the golden rule (do unto others as you would have them do unto you). Because everyone else is being unfaithful is no excuse. I am blessed. Sure there are many temptations out there, I refuse to cheat on my wife. She does not deserve it and I know it would hurt her terribly as well as ruin her trust for me.

Cheating is an individual thing...not a mass production. Everyone who says "I do" choose to become monogamous...not forced.

I think the problem is that people are so scared to be alone that they don't end bad relationships. So they are stuck in a bad situation and someone comes along, and wham, they are a cheater. I find cheating to be like a scarlet letter, if I know a girl has cheated on someone in the past, if they volunteer that info, she is out as a possible mate. History repeats itself and I just feel you need to have the stones to end things when they are stale...

It's definitely possible. Just not as likely as it should be. It's a shame how few people there are that will seek out sexual/romantic attention elsewhere when in a serious relationship. I'm sure you'll get plenty of people saying that they don't cheat, and I'm sure some of them don't, but people have a tendency to have ideals when they're convenient and toss em' out the window as soon as they don't fit in with what they want.

I can't answer for the general populous but I've been with my boyfriend for almost 8 years.. no breakups, no cheating.. a fully honest relationship and I do truly love him!

Not according to the stuff I read on here, they don't. Does it exist? I suppose somewhere in the world there have to be people who are devoted to one another & wouldn't stray. Can you be fully honest - no. There are things you just don't tell your s/o, no matter what. I hope you find it - good luck!!

The whole "it's natural for men to want to lay every woman they see because they are biologically wired that way" is a complete crock. It's an excuse for men who can't control their urges. I know plenty of men who are perfectly happy with having sex with the same woman, just as I know plenty of women who crave multiple sexual partners. Everyone's different. My boyfriend, for example, is a complete woman in bed. His main concern is the overall bond and romantic connection that happens during sex. It doesn't matter how, when, or where we do it, as long as its romantic. And believe me, I've asked him plenty of times if he wants to do things differently. So believe me, there are good men out there. Sure they'll always look, as us women always look. But that doesn't mean we want to go out and sleep with that person.

    I do....heck, I have been for 34 years.

That's what love is all about.

Besides, all that sneaking around just seems like too much work and I can never remember what I said any time I tell a lie.
