Do you think it's wierd for 2 men to be in a hot tub together?
My husband and I have a hot tub and we enjoy it together and with our family and neighbors. I have been in it with close girl friends of mine alone to relax without kids and my husband has gone in with his best friend alone for the same reason. No one said a word about me, but a lot of people have teased them about them being in there together. Now his friend won't get in the tub at all, even with other people in with them. I find it strange that a hot tub is viewed differently, considering you could sit closer to someone on a couch, or at a table and chairs for that matter, and no one will say a word...but enter water into the picture and people make it a sexual thing? I was just curious as to how many people consider a hot tub to be more intimate of a situation than the common urinal? Men and womens opinions both welcome.

sounds like that guy had his homophobe alarm activated.
to me bein in a hot tub with my buddy would fine as long as we both have at least one hand out of the water holding a drink. probably talking about photography and stuff. but as soon as i can't see both his hands, my gaydar would probably go off, EVEN THOUGH i know he's not gay. dunno how to explain it... every heterosexual guy has a bit of gaydar that goes off once in a while.

I don't think its weird for them to be in the hot tub together. So long as nothing else is going on undewr the water, then it's fine.
Look at episodes of big brother etc. where only the guys will be in the tub together. No one makes any issue of it. There is nothing going on.
For other people to tease them shows a low level of maturity on their part.
I guess the analogy you make regarding a couch doesn't apply in this situation, as on a couch they would usually be fully clothed.
The hot tub is the evolution of the Great Baths that the Ancient Romans used to use, a place of social equality and an area where men could relax while planning the next conquest.

no I dont think there is anything wrong with it but leave it to people to have dirty minds ur husbands friend needs to ignore it
