Why is "Crash" by Dave Matthews considered a romantic song?

It seems to me like it's more of a stalker/peeping tom song. Romance is the last thing I think of when I hear that song.

Crash is considered a romantic song because of its melodic tune. If you listen carefully to the lyrics, Dave is basically using clever euphimisms for sex. I personally love the song, and the band. However, you do have a point. The song could be construed as a stalker watching a woman undress in the night or something. I prefer to go with the more positive theory.

I think that most people don't get past the melody. With different words, music could make a great romantic song. People just hear the music and think "That's such a pretty song." They don't listen to the words anymore. And you are right, it is a stalker/peeping tom song.

Yeah, I always found that sound to be way creepy. Kind of like that Police song, I'll be watching you. Really pretty melody, but extra sick lyrics about stalking.
