What's a good semiformal dress for someone with VERY short legs?

I have a friend that had the same problem and she found a strapless black dress. The hem on the bottom started about lower thigh on one leg and was cut diagonally so it went down to her mid-calve on the other leg. She paired it with some tall-yet -comfortable strappy heels. She definitely pulled it off quite well.

Does it have to be a dress or could you pull it off by wearing some really stylish pants? My best advice is to try the colour black because that always addes length and myabe pinstripe and if you can, find a dress that has a belt at the waist because that seperates your body so your legs dont seem that short!

I am also really short and so is my mom and we always have that problem. I would have to tell you to get the dress and then have it hemed at a seamstress and I think that may work. Just make sure that the rest of the dress fits you like you want it to and then just get it hemed. Good luck and I hope I helped.

can't u wear pants? or a long skirt?, try black pants, long to touch the floor and a great top, i guess u could paly w/the colors, that depends on u, remember pants are very semiformal, just pick the right fabric and color and like i said a great top...
