Does anybody know what kind of chemicals?

Does anybody know what kind of chemicals manufacturers put on clothes to make them look bright and with that brand new smell? Even when the fabric was washed and bleached such as jeans they always come with the brand new clothes smell and shine. What kind of product they use? Just curious....

Update:

10 points to you if you can tell me.

Actually, it's formaldehyde...which is a carcinogenic (cancer-causing) substance. You should always wash your new clothes before you wear them because of the formaldehyde and the excessive dyes used on them. The dyes (like Sudan Black) are also not good for your body because they get stored in the body's fat tissues.

Good question. When you wash clothes in cool water and a mild soap, the bright look and brand new smell stays for a long time. Surprising you got the same result after washing and bleaching jeans.

I have no idea what the stuff is, but it will probably turn out to be something that is carcinogenic, adds calories even when you're only looking at food or makes you glow in the dark.
