Sounds to me like the previous owners may have had pets...pet stains tend to remain once the "pet" is gone. The stain is prolly in the padding, and soaked through the back of the carpet. It keeps reveling itself even though the carpets have been cleaned. You may have to pull up your carpet and replace it. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Pull the carpet back to expose the padding. Cut the padding out and replace. Return the carpet back to the tacks. Using a solution of hydrogen peroxide and water or bleach and water spray the carpet. Repeat as necesary

The most creative solution I have for you is to let the Kirby vacuum guy come in! He came to our place and I couldn't say no, so my fiance took advantage of the situation. He calmly said, "If you can get those spots outta the carpet, I might actually consider buying your vacuum." Well, that definitely kicked the salesman into gear. He got out the "Kirby Foam" and went to work. He didn't do all the spots, but where he did, the carpet is whiter and has stayed cleaner than the rest of our floor! If you have $1000, you might just buy one.

The stain is coming back because it is in the carpet padding. Clean padding or replace.

    Hi,

I'm sorry to hear about your carpet! I had the same thing happen on my carpet, but with a permanent marker! I surfed the net like a mad woman, but nothing worked. I finally tried the colorox bleach pen. It took the stain right out!

I paid about $4.50 for mine, but I was surfing the freebies today and I saw a link to get one for free!

    Good Luck!
