How can the Republican Party have the audacity to present themselves as the Morality Party?
They are utterly shameless in their tactics. They will post any libelous slur or lie if it might help them stave off the defeat they so richly deserve.
Is a little action on the side by Clinton-- that was nobody's business- really as bad as starting a war on false pretenses? Or the Jack Abramoff scandal? Or Mark Foley?

In the Republican party, most of the time if there is even a hint of some kind of wrong doing, or illegal action, they quit, or step aside because it's the right thing to do. Honestly, you can't say the same about the Democrats. How many scandals, and how many times did democratic congressmen or women, step aside? Do some research. You have to apply the law equally, not just to one party.
I am not saying Republicans are perfect, and I am not very happy with some of the things this congress didn't do, but the alternative is not very good. Look at what the Dems want to do if they take the majority, Raise taxes, Bring the troops home, Scale back the patriot act. Most Americans don't want to pay more taxes, or to leave us vulnerable to a terrorist attack.
The other unfortunate thing for the Dems is that the economy is doing well, and unemployment is the lowest in a decade. People will be getting their 401K statements shortly here, and will be happy with what they see. Don't forget, energy costs are still coming down too.

People can voice opinions about whatever they want-- maybe you should go look up libel, rukidding.
The fact is, just like "freedom," and "Patriotism," the word "morality" means different things to different people. These words all, sadly, mean very different things to liberals and conservatives.
It's a shame.
However, I think there would be a lot more room for making this country better if the needless bipartisanship was reduced, and the best way to do that, is for everyone in the country to go to the polls and vote for people and not parties.
There have certainly been shameless tactics on both sides. Probably not in equal proportion, but thats not the real issue. If Americans as a whole concerned themselves with their country more, lies and deceit would stop slipping through the cracks, and we might also see some independent candidates winning elections based on their platforms and ideas for helping America.

You must not have heard bushes speech about 15 minutes ago. He stated, and this is the move that's been going on for the past 10 years. He stated that their objective is to have a one party system. Which is the problem now. He wants a republican congress and house. Do away with a two party system. The old American way. He will then be able to rewrite the Constitution and the poor republican hang oners, who are living in denial, will pay the price with the rest of us peons.

Like what if I may ask? And you people are so upstanding? No libelous slurs from you, even though this in and of itself is a libelous slur? How about every time you scare the elderly with the lie about taking their Social Security from them? How about in the last Presidential election when you told people that if Bush was elected again, he'd bring the draft back? Where is it, then? How about when you go on and on about him stealing the election or rigging voting machines? That isn't libelous? Or do you not know what that means?

Because they can so easily point to the immorality of Clinton. That's going to give them ammo for decades.
Further response - yes, Clinton's "getting some" is a big deal to some people because it shows he's of low moral character. Also, some people feel that we're doing the right thing in Iraq and Afghanistan and that their was no immoral action on Bush's part... even more, that going to war is a higher moral action than Clinton's inaction.

If they are re-elected this November there has got to be something really, really fishy going on..... Things have gotten so bad in the last few years that it is almost scary to be an American. We "Godless - Liberal Democrats" may have to move to France after all!

I agree wholeheartedly dude. Unfortunately I am afraid that hoth parties are so hung up on the party label that they have convinced us to quit looking at the people representing them. I have seen campaigns from all sides based on lies and accusations this year. It seems that they expect us to vote for a candidate because the have a D or R after their name. We are supposed to believe that one little letter means they will represent our beliefs.
We all need to stand up, take to the streets if necessary and demand truth!
