  • Aggressive cat problems, biting humans?

I have a 13 year old male cat with an aggression problem. He's declawed and neutered, and been a pretty good cat until the last couple of years. He's never been abused, or had anyone give him a hard time or been mistreated. I"ve had him since he was a couple of weeks old. When I got married, he seemed to warm up to my wife just fine at first, until we had kids. He's never liked the kids, but will tolerate being pet by my son lately. My son was bit several times and learned not to try to touch the kitty when he was very little. He also will not allow my daughter, to get close to him at all and has bitten her before too. The kids mostly just keep there hands in close now when the cat is around. Of course they both love the cat and want to pet him.

The problem is the cat has bitten my wife HARD twice now, once with my son 2 years ago, and once last week. My daughter fell and cried, my wife picked her up, and the cat attacked her, bit her knee drawing blood. The event 2 years ago was similar, with 4 puncture wounds to my wifes left calf.

I am afraid right now that he may attack my wife or one of the kids, he is in a battle of wills with my wife, and she obviously wants him gone. She's afraid for the kids, and of being bitten again herself, as am I. He was hissing and growling at her this morning, again. He still treats me the same, which is like I'm OK, he wants a scratch in the morning, and a pet before I go to work, and comes and sits by me when I'm on the couch or on the computer.

Is it possible to get the cat to settle down? I don't want to drug him, I would prefer that he go to a good home, if I can't come up with a better solution.

  • Best method to install bamboo flooring on concrete?

I recently bought bamboo flooring, not laminate, it's 4 inches wide and 37 3/4 inches long. I've read of two methods for installing on concrete, either with a urethane glue, or floating type floor and gluing the joints as you assemble.

Which method is the best method? The room is about 350 sq ft, and about 200 sq ft of hallway. I would like to do this myself.

  • Why are we still paying such high prices at the gas pump?

Oil continues to drop, yet we're still hovering around 3.50 a gallon. It should be 2.50, or less by now....

  • Martial Law in the House of Representatives?

    Is this true?

I haven't found anything other than the video to confirm this.

"Under congressional martial law, mandatory time restraints that allow congress and the public time to read and understand what is being voted on is lifted, supposedly to allow a speedy response to a crisis. "

"The Leadership apparently intends to use a process known as “martial law” to allow these bills to be brought to the floor very shortly after negotiations are completed, with the result that Members of the House are likely to have virtually no time to examine and consider the details of the legislation before they will be required to vote on it."

  • Are you worried about Yahoo?

    http://biz.yahoo.com/nytimes/080620/1194786889878....

I am. I like yahoo, and support them. I don't really like the idea of Google being all alone at the top, or Microsoft swallowing yahoo whole. Anyone else feel this way?

  • Barack Obama on the US "setting a bad example"?

Who does this guy think he is? I haven't seen the content of the speech he gave at the rally in Seattle, but it's all over talk radio.

American's setting a bad example by setting there thermostats to 72, eating as much as you want, and driving an SUV?

Excuse me, but if those are the choices American's make and they pay for them, which you do, it is not the government's job to tell you what to drive, eat, or what to set your thermostat to in your house.

Dick's been saying this since he was elected. I sure would like to see someone challenge him on such a ridiculous statement.

  • Is this legislation counter to why we created a strategic petroleum reserve?

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080424/pl_nm/usa_cong...

1/10th of 1% goes to the SPR. This is symbolic feel good legislation that accomplishes nothing.

Do we need the Strategic Petroleum Reserve? Does it safeguard or help the American people at all?

  • Is this an alarmist view of current markets and events?

This sure seems like he's done his homework. Is it inevitable that the market will crash? Is this the perfect storm? Inflation, reduction in credit, etc?

  • Will The Congress succeed in limiting Executive branch power?

Seems to me Congress is trying to micro manage the war on terror. I love the spin media puts on EVERYTHING. OK, not really.

The precise wording of the Democrats' measure remains unsettled. One version would restrict American troops in Iraq to fighting the al-Qaida terrorist network, training Iraqi army and police forces, maintaining Iraq's territorial integrity and otherwise proceeding with the withdrawal of combat forces.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (news, bio, voting record), D-Nev., intends to present the proposal to fellow Democrats next week, and he is expected to try to add the measure to anti-terrorism legislation scheduled to be debated later this month. Officials who described the strategy spoke only on condition of anonymity, noting that rank-and-file senators had not yet been briefed on the details.

"These kinds of efforts have consequences," Fratto said Friday. He said that pulling troops out of Baghdad would result in chaos.

  • Have Democratic Presidential candidates that lean to the left already lost the election of 2008?

Hillary Clinton and Barak Obama, already fighting over the anti war vote. Has the Democratic caucus gone mad? Is Howard Dean leading the Democrats in the right direction?

In the last congressional race, the more conservative Dems beat out the Republicans.

Does anyone believe that going to the left will win elections?

  • Will US forces still be in Iraq 10 years from now? Is it ridiculous to look at getting out of Iraq?

We still have troops in Germany, Korea, and Japan for that matter. WWII ended a long time ago, as did Korea.

    Will there be a realignment?

Is it time to close our bases in Europe? Or at least scale them back?

  • Holiday Bratwurst or Christmas Sausage?

My grandmother of German descent, used to put in an order with our local butcher during the holidays.

It was always referred to as Christmas sausage as I remember, and was a type of Bratwurst that was smoked. I'm wondering if anyone can help with a recipe, or memory of this tasty treat?

I remember it having mustard seed in it, and tasting somewhat spicy, black pepper and garlic maybe?

I've found many sites from Wisconsin selling different types of German sausages, nothing really stuck out as what I am looking for. I may just start ordering the smoked bratwurst from each site and try them all....

    Any help is appreciated.

I've been playing for a while now, and it really doesn't bother me to see an ad for the Intel Core Duo.

Would you recommend BF2142 to others?

  • Why were there no allegations of voter fraud in the last election?

With the number of elections, and how close they were, isn't it amazing that not one Republican called for a recount, and held his state or district hostage? So, it's only voter fraud when a Republican wins a close race?
