My moniter shuts off when I try to play the Sims 2, can you help?
Here's the deal, I have the Sims 2 w/ all extension packs installed on my computer and everytime I play, after a couple hours of game play, the monitor will shut off. It will stay that way until I restart my computer. It does not do that with any other program, just that game. It's really the only game we play for extended periods of time. Anyone have any idea why? I'm taking my computer in on Friday to get looked at by a pro, I was just wondering if there was anything anyone could suggest to try at home and save a little money.

My first suggestion would be to update your video card drivers, in case it is a compatibility issue there. Second, I would check the Sims Web site forum in case this is a known issue with the game. You might also have an issue with the computer overheating, as the Sims 2 is a very processor-intensive game. You should check your system specs to make sure it meets the minimum requirement for the game (and all expansion packs).
