What year is this???

This is what I have been hearing a lot of when I try to talk about the Bible and the Bible's principles. (Like the man and woman's roles in marriage, Christ's commandments to us, the relationship of the Bible to "modern day" society, etc). I don't quite get this -- ESPECIALLY from believers. Do you really think that God's word is not as applicable today because it was written "way back when"? Do you really think that the Lord that made everything, and KNOWS everything from yesterday, today, and days to come wrote the Bible and "missed" today's society. Like he couldn't FATHOM what the world was gonna be like in 2006?? The Bible was written to be transparent accross any and EVERY generation and societal change. When the societies thought it no longer applied to them, he showed them quickly that it did (Sodom and Gomora). The Bible gives tells us how to live our lives, and Rev 22:18-19 says "Who adds to word .. will add to plagues, who takes away.. he will take take away gifts".

I don't think it's so much that it isn't applicable, but more that people don't want to get involved with the controversy of speaking about the Bible. I myself will not speak about the bible nor my spiritual beliefs due to the fact that alot of "passionate" people feel that you HAVE to believe what THEY believe. When reading the bible, I think every person has a different opinion and feels a different way about certain scriptures. But when you have someone telling you that you are wrong, it is discouraging.

What year is it according to what calender?

What year is it according to whos calender?

It is 2006 on the Christian calender!! But really according to the Jewish Calender, what year is it?

Before Judiasm, there was Buddhism and Hinduism! According to their calenders what year is it?

That I know of Hinduism is the earlist recorded religion. Are there any other religions, that you or anyone else knows of before Hinduism?

And according to that religion, or those people, that culture, what year is it?

What religion was Lucy? Lucy was "the" first human remains ever found!! Lucy and her baby were found together.

Did the Earliest human (before adam and eve, Gen. was a recreation. the earth and humans were recreated after lucifer's fall), being that ever existed have a religion, or type of religious system?

And what would be the calender year be according to Lucy's Calender? So dating back to Lucy's Time, "What year is it?"

This is the Best way of asking the question!!!!

    Food for thought!
