    My favorite is Escape from New York. "Snake Plissken? I heard you were dead." That's the classic tough-guy movie.

    It's hard not to pick Halloween, though. The best suspense/thriller of all time. It introduced the slasher genre.

    I just wanted to correct Lil Diva. John Carpenter did not direct Terminator or Titanic. They were both directed by James Cameron

    Assault On Precinct 13 or Escape From New York are good ones, but the best of his I can say is probably They Live or The Thing. Final Verdict: The Thing. It shows his talents as a director and his dry humor. (One that wasn't on your list was Big Trouble In Little China which I personally think is his best)

    Well. I think the Terminator and Titanic were the best of the best of his movies. I love the Titanic.
