Legal rights for 17yr olds in Missouri?

I turn 17 in two months and currently do NOT live with my father. though he is a big threat and says he will 'do stuff' if i mess up. So im wondering when i turn 17, and i choose to live on my own or move out of state is there anything he can do to make me come back home or is there anyway he can send me off somewhere?

Hes really initimidating, thats why im asking.

Usually the legal age is 18, but you can emancipate yourself from your father if he's dangerous. You need to talk to someone like a counselor at school, a trusted teacher, or pastor. Good luck.

I think that legally he can, But he would be a fool because if you're that set on living on your own will finish high school & can support yourself, & are dug free he could only hold you for another year then you might be so angry that he'll lose you for good once you turn 18. Try & talk to him if he's intimidating have another adult maybe your mom or a family member come with you.

You have legal rights and you have rights to make your own decisions at the age of 16,

if you want to move out and be on your own to freedom and get away from your dad you have legal rights then.. if he continues to be a threat you can file for a restraining order to keep him away from you or notify police

You need to check local laws. However, if you mean that he says "if you live under my roof, its my rules" that's not threats, that's dad's law. Contrary to popular belief, 17 year olds do not have the right to do as they wish. If it is a abusive situation, and not a control one, then contact DCS, they will help.

ONLY a Family Court judge can say who you live with UNTIL you are 18.

DO NOT listen to any other answers given here if it differs with what I wrote!

You would have to get it approved thru the courts actually to get rights as an adult. This is the same in about every state.
