Start with a cleaning in the dental office.
Floss, brush your teeth, scrape your tongue, rinse with a mouthwash of your choice. Avoid foods that make bad breath, like onions and garlic. If none of that helps, consult your doctor or dentist to see where the smell is coming from.
If you do a search on the internet using "bad breath" as your search term, you will find almost five MILLION references. Here's a good place to start:

The odors from garlic and onions enter your blood stream and then it takes a couple of DAYS before you breathe it all off. As you do this, you will continue to have bad breath. You can only use a mouthwash or breath mint (sugarless) as needed to mask the odor. I have read a lot of answers here saying to eat parsley to get rid of garlic breath, but I have no personal knowledge about that. Try it.

You maybe need a good cleaning of your teeth, if that is not the proble you could have stomach problems. Try breath RX you could find it in any pharmacy, is a mouth wash

DESPITE WHAT MOST FOLKS THINK, HAVING GREAT ORAL HYGIENE OR USING GUM DOES NOT ALWAYS RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM, HALITOSIS. ABOUT 15% BAD BREATH IS FROM PROBLEMS CAUSED INSIDE THE MOUTH. THE OTHER CAUSES MAY BE VARIOUS SYSTEMIC DISEASES, DIET (GARLIC, ONIONS, ETC.) OR STOMACH PROBLEM.THE CAUSE OF BAD BREATH IS VOLATILE SULFUR COMPOUNDS MOST MOUTHWASHES ONLY MASK THIS PROBLEM. ONLY A RINSE, TOOTHPASTE DESIGNED TO ELIMINATE THESE VOLATILE SULFUR COMPOUNDS WILL RESOLVE BAD BREATH PROBLEMS ORIGINATING FROM THE MOUTH -- ASSUMING THE ORAL HYGIENE IS GOOD.

Flossing will also help significantly. It gets rid of stuff trapped between your teeth that otherwise would just sit there and rot.

Brush your teeth after every meal or snack. Use mouthwash and chew gum constantly.

be sure to brush your teeth very often and while brushing use a tongue brusher/scraper. Be sure that your tongue is a pinkish color, no white.
