Who thinks the NHL should be run by somebody who knows something about hockey?

Bettman is clueless! The NHL should be run by a hockey person. It's the most exciting sport on earth, and he cannot even get a major network in the U.S. to cover it.

My vote is for Ken Dryden. I know he has no charisma, but he is a hall of fame player who loves the game and has the credentials.

This is probably the first time I'm going to agree with HABITANT. Bettman is ruining our game. He needs to go if we want to see good hockey again. Dryden's a nice choice except he's too busy running for the Liberal leadership. I vote for Wayne Gretzky. He was a player for 20 years. He's part-owner of Phoenix. He's the executive director for Team Canada. Now he's added coach to his resume. I think he's seen hockey through enough angles to know what's good for the game. Besides, he's hockey's greatest ambassador.

yes Dryden would be a great guy for the job cause hes all brain, a very smart man, and yes he knows his hockey. but as of now he is running for the Liberal party and may some day become Canada's prime minister. so maybe if his politics doesn't go the right way then maybe he would try for the job, cause i do agree Bettman should be let go he has made the sport less interesting in some ways or another. hes plane in to try and sell the game south of the border is not working and the owners should fire his ***, but its kind of hard when the commish is up in their asses. but i really hope hes gone soon cause we need it.

I second that. The NHL has changed so much since i started watching hockey. Which was a bout maybe 7 or 8 years ago. I wish it was the way it was when i first started watching it. The only change i like is the shoot out. The players cant even play because the refs calling so many penalties.

he sided with the owners on the tv issue, the bottom line being money. the downside was fukcing the fan out of seeing their favorite sport.

hopefully the salaries won't go up much, as they are already overpaid.

    baseball is way to high.

The problem is my friend, that sports are no longer sports, they are companies and businesses. So they do whatever is good for business, not whats good for the players or fans.
