Is censorship going too far?
HAve any of you been censored in your lives? Not just here, but in other aspects as well? I've seen it a lot. We're told we have free speech. Do we really?
Being politically correct is so overdone lately, that it seems we're not allowed to have our own opinions any more. Btw, I'm not afraid to be reported. Why should I be? I'm just asking a question.
Part 2 of question: Is America a fascist country under the disguise of giving free speech? Is that what big corporations are really about, supporting their agenda? Or are they really interested in everyone's opinion?
Salam, brother. I am so glad you got that problem taken care of. Believe me, I understand more than you know. Hoda Affez.

Yes! It is worse than ever. Look to the Internet censorship by big cor. like Yahoo; ten times all my website were deleted by the Canadian Government and Toronto Police who are just the follower of the American's censorship plans.
I was forced to post my web site by fake name:

Yes it is. In my opinion, censorship is unnecessary because it only makes the item being censored (or banned) more obvious (TV, movies, pictures, and music) or more interesting (books). Besides, there is no way to censor daily life, which would be very impractical. Also, some things just have to be left uncensored, that is, they must be [ seen, read, heard] as the were intended. As a note, some people need to lighten up, there is no logical way to please everyone and if something should offend someone, that person should just let it go and forget about. You are not required to agree with anybody else, nor is anybody else required to agree with you.

Only if it is censoring ideas. Language, nudity, obscenity, etc is OK to censor, but seldom content. We need a little more censorship on TV, if you ask me. When Ampd Mobile has a guy saying s h i t on a commercial, we've gone too far.
Free Speech means that you can express ideas, it does not mean that every word that comes out of your mouth is protected. Yahoo built this site and maintains it. What about their right to restrict offensive content?

It depends. The worse case of censorship in my life was at a school dance when I was dancing with someone of a different race and one of the monitors became incensed because of it. As far as censorship in movies are concerned, they need some. Movies have been destroyed in my opinion because of sex and violence. I, for one do not like to be treated as a brainless idiot with no imagination. And that is the way the movie makers treat all of us. Should I mention that most of the movies are really boring as well.

You cannot ask a question like that without offering specifics.
EDIT:
I had a femininazi college professor do it a few times in an English class. First, she called me a racist for reporting what someone said about black laborers. Then she refused to call on me when I answered questions because who knows why.

It depends on what you are refering to. In some areas censorship has gone overboard while in others, there's not enough of it. Which area are you talking about/
