Your friend should call the local sheriff department or police department and ask if a warrant has been issued. She may have to call the Justices of the Peace or the District Attorney's Office and check, but a warrant will show up on the police cpu. If they say come in and talk about it in person, don't. Get answers on the phone. She may have to call several different entities to get a straight answer.

She can go to the court and check. The police station might not know! She needs to check with the court's clerk. Chances are, if it's been over a year, there is no warrant. However, it's still possible.

she can go to the county clerks office and find out,if she didn't get arrested or re sieve a summons that there might not be a warrant is she still doing business with the same bank,if she is and she notified them the check was stolen and someone else sign it then i doubt if they issued a bench warrant they knew where she lived if they truly wanted her

Have her call the clerk of courts. They will be able to tell her the judgement and if there is a warrent or not. Its public record so she shouldn't even have to give her name. The other way is to do a search for the clerk of courts or circuit court web site for your area and do a search for her name. It will tell the results of the court case.

Sounds like a crock to me. Every month, everyone who has a checking account recieves a statement from the bank. Any discrepencies will be found while balancing the checkbook against the bank statement. It sounds like irresponsibility.
Anyway, most banks have computerized account info, have her contact her bank for information about the check.
