Ring Dilemma?

Ok Plain and simple I found what I thought was the perfect setting for an engagement ring. I pretty much fell in love with it because it was so different and it was not something that you would see on another woman’s hand. Not saying it is a 1 of a kind because its not. Just saying that I want to give her something different. Its from whiteflash.com and it’s the U-PRONG 'CHAMPAIGNE' DIAMOND ENGAGEMENT RING. My problem is as follows. If I purchase the setting from them I have to get the center stone from them. Of course I also know a jewelry who would take good care of me if I purchased a ring from him. What do I do? I am so torn and do not want to spend $12,000 without some other opinions

Thanks

I'd print the picture from the website, and take it to the jeweler you KNOW, and see if they can get/make you something similar. Still... $12k is a LOT to spend on a ring! You better be 120% sure the answer is YES before dropping that kind of money! :)

I think that is very sweet of you. My husband and I have matching set made for us so we know it's one of a kind. You can go with that and won't ever have to worry about being forced to use a certain person. I think 12 grand is way too much to spend on any piece of jewelry. You can buy a car for that price. I personally would rather my husband spend less on the ring and put the money to the side for either the wedding, honey moon, or our home. I am more into the sentimental value than the money value of any gift though.

Get your setting and your stone from the same person. It is better to deal with someone you can see and talk to up close and personal. This applies to any ring at any price. Try getting an internet company to honor warranties and or listen to your problem. It can be done but not without a pain in your @ss.

It's great to hear how much effort your putting into this ring. Make sure you consider her tastes. She may already have a dream cut and setting in mind.

A U-prong engagement ring is something your local jewelry can create. It's best to go with a jeweler you know and trust.

First off congratulations. Secondly maybe you could ask your jeweler about a similar setting, I am sure she will be happy with whater you decide. Just remember the ring does not make the marriage so price does not matter. Get what you want to see on her finger. Congrates again

The stone is the most important part of a ring and most expensive. Give priority on that. Is there anyway that the settign or anything similar can be found/obtain by other jewellers so you can buy it there?

go with something a lil cheaper, i found a crap load of wedding rings that i wanted on www.overstock.com and to me it would mean more to me for my fiance to get me a ring that he knows i will appreciate more for whats behind it, not the carat on it, but im a simple girl though. she should love whatever you pick out b/c it came from the heart, unless shes a money hungry goldigger, lol

you might also want to ask her

    opinion or a close friends

show the other guy the ring and see if he can get one like it or make one like it and let him know what you want to spend or give him you limit and see what he can do for ya!

    you have a lucky girl:)

I would go thru the local jeweler. He can always help you later if anything happens. We did that and were very happy we did.

get the good setting and the best synthetic stone, the girl won't know the difference. Spend the cash on yourself......
