Is credibility of college gpa's lost?

It seems everyone who works hard doesnt always get good grades. People that know less or equal can do better or the same on the test as someone who works their butt at it and understands the material. From my perspective, it's hard to digest the fact that jobs will prefer people with a higher gpa over lower gpa, even though work ethic is seemingly inversed!

All a higher gpa will get you if you are already at the university level is honors.

Its best to try an understand the material better then it is to strive for a high gpa. Pass your courses and do the best you can to understand everything you are learning.

College tests are designed so that those students that know the material will get a good grade. People that work their butts off are typically one of two types, those that have to work hard because they dont really understand the material and do poorly, or those that study all the time and are near a 4.0 gpa. all in all college gpa is a good estimate of a students understanding of the material
