Does anyone know why kids bleed from theie nose regularly.?

My 3 year old has been bleeding for a week now, not alot, but maybe once a day she gets little nose bleeds for a very short period of time. I'm getting a little worried, now I feel kind of irresponsible because I haven't called her doctor. Any suggestions ?

Well my step son is 10 and he gets nose bleeds. I was worried in the beguinning but later I caught him picking it and thats what was making it bleed, but I'm not sure what causes it because I have heard of this before. Maybe you should see a doctor if it continues. Don't worry your not a bad person for not calling a doctor. I don't think that it is to serious.

Here the air is dry because of the cold weather. We turned the heat up. All we did was buy a humidifier and put them in the bedrooms. Now our nose bleeds are gone.

My husband had chronic nose bleeds as a child due to allergies. His mom mentioned that he had a procedure, where areas in his sinus cavity were cauterized to prevent excessive bleeding. I don't know if this is still done, but, call your doctor and find out.

You may want to make sure that she is well hydrated. Dehydration sometimes brings on nose bleeds. In any case, call your pediatrician and find out more.

Honestly, it is usually from them picking their nose.

However, sometimes the nasal passages will just get dry and simple movements will cause it to bleed. For instance, right now the air is colder and may be a lot drier in some places, so that could be a contributing factor.

Gelatin, like jello will help clot the blood and cause less bleeding. You can buy regular gelatin and make a sugar free kind if your worried about the sugar content. It doesn't matter if you give it to your child warm, cold or set up, they can drink it for all that matters. If it continues or gets worse, do contact a physician. I am a Mom of 4...

If it has been ongoing I would call your family doctor. My son used to get them a lot and the dr said that he was not drinking enough and he was overheating too much. The dr will know for sure what the reason is.

It can be normal because it happend to me as a kid, i use to get bloody noses constantly when it was too hot, allergy, or too cold. it could be that thing that always pops and thats why you get a bloodynose much. if i was you id call her doctor to make sure its nothing serious, because mine was due to the fact that i was a pre mature baby.
