Are we ever going to legalize pot?

I'm so tired of hearing that it is a gateway drug. Isn't alcohol too. Also the biggest problem with it being gateway is that people try it and see the aren't psychotic and then they don't believe the other drugs are as bad as people say so they give them a go. On one of those news shows where people call in, I learned that Washington DC citizens voted 69% in favor of legalazation and then congress said no. I guess that they feel we are all morons and need to be protected from ourselves. You know Give me saftey or give me death.

I agree..Ive never understood why this wasnt done 10 yrs ago..cigarettes gateway drug..then its drinking and pot..then when u see your still alive..then people r dumb enough to try other things..the real addicts cant even drink/smoke nothing but they give normal people that smoke pot in their back yard twice a year a bad name..its all so pathetic..we all know the bad things weve done on alcohol but its legal and way worse than pot..

The new guy running for Gov of Texas wants it legalized..so who knows but until then its like whatever...I always just chill out and talk on pot..but anything in excess is not healthy either ..good question..

A few weeks ago i was reading in yahoo news about having a question on this Tuesday ballet about legalizing pot in Nevada and how to control it. The article said that they had the same question on a ballet a few years back and the people voted against it. Look up that article, it was interesting...if it passes I'm moving :)

At this point why would you want it legalized?!? First of all you'd be paying too much for it b/c of the huge taxes they would plop on top of the price, second of all why would you want the governments hands on your weed? Who knows what kind of additives they would put in it.

On another note - pot usually is a "gateway" drug. As drug support counsler 9 out of 10 cociane, crack and herion users state that their first incounter with drugs was with weed.

Our lives are micromanaged by politicians who only have special interest money in mind, and they will need to come up with a way to make money off of it in a whole new way.

So the answer is No, I do not believe that they will legalize pot, or at least not in this decade.

im from canada and we should have it legalized the only reason we dont is because the US has wasted billions trying to stop a buisness that can never be stopped so its better tonot have it legalized or else the government would tax it like smokes and alcohol so weed should probably never be legal or else the government will mess up weed for al of us

Yeah, I think we should have marijuana legalized, but remember that if it becomes legal, they'll tax too much on it. Plus, you won't be able to smoke and drive, because like alcohol, it messes your body up. Nice facts, though.

It will be legalized only when the government can come up with an accurate way to tax growers and smokers.

It is impossible for the govt. to regulate something you can grow with soil and water. It is that easy. So the govt. can make far more money with keeping it illegal and prosecuting with fines.

not until the government can find a way to make money off of it. then who wants to smoke taxed up G-bud anyway
