    For reasons...

American opinion is generally formulated by opinions generated by main-stream media, and mainstream media has a strong bias towards conservative politics - although, of course, there is a minority of so-called "liberal" opinion and sources of news that occasionally receives note in publications, television, etc.

    For example,

    - The entire build-up to the war was virtually unquestioned.

    - News about labor and union formation goes unreported.

    - Health care as a general human and social right (for so-called, "liberals") is ignored and promoted as usually within the context as a for-profit business.

    - Environmental news, solutions and problems, are under-reported except those that may affect larger businesses and corporate interests.

    - Legal issues that affect limitations of personal and private throughout the judicial system rarely filter down into the daily lives... Everybody should have the right to face those whom accuse of violating the law (habeus corpus), but Bush has allowed his office to deny anybody that right - and habeus corpus is one of the founding principles of the Western Civilization's legal code... but this is hardly understood by anybody who supports Bush.

    - The list is almost endless...

But, suffice it to say that Americans have poor sources of information even with the so-called "free press" (it's highly controlled so as to maintain the illusion as being so, many think.).

Lastly, American people, really have been, I think, "dumbed down" since the mid-70's or so which has resulted in a rejection oof anything truly intellectual, inquisitive and so when Bush is challenged, they tend to stick with a leader rather than make any serious, thoughtful opinion that may lead to dissatisfaction with him.

I don't know why nobody understood you ... I do.

In any midterm election, the sitting President is always an issue. The midterm is where the voters decide whether the Congress shall be of the same party as the President, or the opposition party. As such, it is a referendum on whether the voters trust the President unfettered, or want the opposition party to have the power to keep him in check.

    The same happened to Clinton.

In this case, this election is very very much about Bush ... and mostly about the war in Iraq.

Why do you Americans have such little pride in your Nation? Do you not realise how much derision you attract from Europe because of your enthusiasm for fools and bigots like the Bushes and Regan?

None of these would go far in any European country.

51% of America is christian . 95% of them will not shift there view one ioweda when it comes to issues re guarding abortion or gay marriage .George Bush says he stands against abortion & gay marrage even though he's full of it, cause I could go get an abortion today. In certain states they have gay marrage too.You see Bush only acts like an idiot to try to fool every one .He's actually quite clever, and I be willing to bet that if his daughter was knocked up by say, a black or latino etc.. He'd have an abortion too.The one thing christians need to look at is the TEN COMANDMENTS ,you know the one about lieing ,and killing.BUSH exploits christians for votes and gives christians a bad name.I hope christians can see this&put an end to it .I'm sick of Bush & and I'm sick of people bashing my religion because of him!!!!!Also I'd like a cookie , cause I never voted for him.

Did you see the documentary that proved the computers that count the votes can be tampered with??

The vote count can be changed from one candidate to another. Regardless, of this proof the same computer's were purchased for the next election.

The answer is beyond my comprehension. I am truly baffled as to why any person, of reasonable intelligence, could vote this man into office. They have offered up their souls to a man who eats them up and spits them out. Bizarre.
