Doctor changed my due date?
I am very confused. I went to the doctors yesterday thinking I was 41weeks and 2days pregnant. He decided to change my due date untill the 14th of November. He said that they were going by the ultrasound, I thought they couldn't tell by an ultrasound this late in pregnancy? I was just there last week and they said I was 40weeks and 2days. Has anyone else had this happen? Any ideas on how to keep myself busy again? I thought I was going to be induced this week so I don't know what else I can do anymore.

im sorry that you are so miserable. I was lucky nad had my son two weeks early. please dont hit me. lol. just kidding. i noticed no one really gave you and advice on how to keep yourself busy. so i would go to the book store grab a latte and read. its free to read as long as you are there, and you can distract yourself from the seemingly inescapable pregnancy obsession we all get. or you could go to the mall and walk with all the little old ladies first thing in the morning. they say that it helps bring on labor and those spandex wear grammas are a hoot. I wish i had more good ways to entertain you but i cant think of anymore rite now. I hope your little bundle of joy comes soooon for you.

I would be very confused too. Did they do an ultrasound early in your pregnancy and give you a due date from that? Have they done any ultrasounds? If so, I would ask some questions and I would be bugged about this. Going too long in there isn't good for either of you.
Doctors are so rigid about when certain blood tests and other tests are done (they must be done in the # week!) and then they change your due date when you are ready to pop!
You are a good and patient woman, I would be in their face saying "40 is all I signed up for, sorry!" LOL
I guess to answer the end of your question, the only thing you can do is what you have been doing to keep busy. Maybe have lunch each day with a different girlfriend/relative to help keep you going?
Best wishes for a safe and easy delivery--whenever it is!

With my first they changed my due date at least 4 times. Don't worry about it...the baby will come when it's ready. Just an aside I have been induced and also had a spontanious labor. Induction ain't all that great. First of all it may not take so they have to wait and try again then instead of a gradual build up for contractions they start hard and strong. I would recomend waiting for the baby to decide when it's ready and start your labor spontaniously. (when I was induced the whole time I was in the hospital waiting for the baby to arrive was about 52 hours....my spontanious labors were 4 and 2 hours) As for what to do while you wait...pamper yourself...get your hair done...go for a pedicure...get a manicure...read a book that has nothing at all to do with pregnancy and parenting. I know it's early but start getting ready for Christmas...once the baby arrives it's amazing how fast time goes.
Good luck, I'll be thinking about you.

My due date has remained the comparable all in the time of my being pregnant. At my ultrasounds, they have been regularly off via roughly 2-4 days, yet my wellness care professional insisted my due date might proceed to be the comparable because of the fact now and back you basically carry a smaller or greater suitable toddler than what's seen "popular" so my due date wont exchange in any respect, no count what length my toddler is on any next ultrasounds. sturdy success~

That is really weird!!! Although they can do ultrasounds at any point, it becomes very hard to determine a due date based on an ultrasound once you are in your 3rd trimester. Especially as far along as you are. Are you sure that was his reasoning for changing your due date? I would call and have them explain it to you until you fully understand why they determined that. At this point you should just try some natural induction techniques such as sex and walking.
Good luck and congrats on the little one.

This happened to me with two of my babys and is not that uncommon, just try to keep busy as best as you can and it will all be over soon. Try not to get frustrated, all this means is that you have more time to your self, so ENJOY it, cuz pretty soon you will have no peace and quiet anymore, just the crying of a new baby, which is not a bad thing but you will wish the baby was still in your tummy sometimes, just so you could get some sleep!!!! So try to sleep as much as possible and enjoy the peace and quiet while you can!! take it from a mother of 4 with one more on the way

They can do ultrasounds throughout pregnancy. Even with the changed due date, I'd be ready for induction. I remember that time all too well. Good luck!

I'm having a nightmare with my dates 1st i was not as far as they thought now I'm further.
i went for a scan on Friday and was told I'm over 22weeks but that doesn't match my last period so they have him down as a bigger baby and kept me at 20 + weeks.
Ive been given 24 march, 29 march, 17 march its driving me crazy do they want us to be pregnant forever??????
my midwife has told me to be ready for beginning of march just to be safe............ grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr i guess baby will come when hes ready but i think id rather they mess my dates up now rather than leave me till I'm due.
i hope your baby doesn't keep you waiting to much longer
good luck x x x x

doctors don't really know. the baby will come when he or she is ready. the doctors just guess at a date. sometimes they are right but many times they are wrong. 28 years ago the doctor told me my daughter would come in August and she was born in july and I was nine months. good luck and get sleep because you will need it. babys have you up half the night. sleep when the baby sleeps.

docs do that all the time they changed mine from early Jan to a week before Christmas it could be that the baby just isn't ready yet i wouldn't worry the baby could come at any time the doc isn't perfect the only one to know is the baby.
good luck
