When it comes to abortion, wouldn't most Religious arguments be irrelevant?

Take for example the argument that "They are sinning". Everyone sins and according to Christianity, the only one that will judge is God.

What about the commandment that says "Thou Shalt Not Kill", and stating that life begins at conception. Yes, but what about the fact that God gave everyone Free Will. Free Will to follow his word or stray from it. Free Will that allows any human to do as he wishes.

I find most religious arguments of why abortion should be banned irrelevant, when these religions tell us that we have Free Will to do as we want, and that the only one to judge is God.

I don't like abortions, I think they are wrong and not because of religious reasons, but I will not stand between a woman and her choice.

im with ya on that. i dont agree with abortion but i disagree more with taking away someone elses freedom to make that choice. it is not up to me to live someone elses life for them. i know god didnt put christians in charge of bossing everyone else around with their laws too.

  • Religous arguments are no more irrelavant that any others. It depends on you outlook and perception. There are plenty of democrats who beleive abortion is wrong. I'm sure you have heard both sides. Just because we have free will, does not mean we can live our live with no concern for God's laws. Having free will does not mean we can go about robbing banks at will because we want to, and have it be ok , or to murder because we want to. tHese are sins against man and God, and God will excact punishment in due course. Yes, we all sin, but it is a matter of degrees, and continually trying to live our lives in harmony with Bible priciples. For an example, in the Bible Exodus 21:22-25

"If men who are fighting hit a pregnant woman and she gives birth prematurely but there is no serious injury, the offender must be fined whatever the woman's husband demands and the court allows. But if there is serious injury, you are to take life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise". This would indicate God treats the unborn as a 'person', and there is a penalty for miscarriage let alone willful destruction of the unborn. As Mother Tersa said "Abortion is genocide one life at a time"

notwithstanding i'm professional-selection, i'll permit you already know that religious arguments probable weigh greater right here than scientific. The technological know-how is all in. there is organic and organic function from the 2nd of concept. the subsequent question is while that organic and organic function constitutes human existence with each and all of the inherent rights thereby entailed. it particularly is not a question that technological know-how can sparkling up. this could properly be a question for faith and philosophy. technological know-how usually solutions the question, "can we?". Philosophy and faith answer the question, "ought to we?". On a controversy this debatable, I part with the pro-selection part. no longer professional-abortion! (i'm no longer available recommending abortions as a stunning adventure and don't understand anyone who's.) people who declare to be "professional-existence" are for the main area purely anti-selection. they have their very own exceptions (e.g. rape, incest, endangerment of the mother's existence, and so on.) and subsequently are not anti-abortion, they only prefer to declare once you are able to and once you are able to no longer. notwithstanding my spouse and that i've got made the determination to no longer abort, interior the face of genetic information which indicated that we ought to have a baby with cystic fibrosis, i does no longer dream of forcing our determination on yet another couple. There are some alternatives so very own and so perplexing that i've got confidence that others ought to recommendations their very own corporation. it particularly is often uncomplicated to decide others once you're actually not of their place. permit each and each lady or couple make their very own piece with God or their bigger capability or in spite of they suspect.

Whew, I'm not the only one.

I also don't like abortions; I don't think I would ever be able to have one. However, they've been performed since time begun, and I'd much rather people get one legally and in sanitary conditions than in other ways. If a woman wants one, she'll have one, and it's far better for it to be able to get one safely. That and I understand that there are conditions where there's not much choice...

You have free will and there are consequences for your actions. Some things are so bad that the government will lock you up for them. Freedom to break the law? Sure. But expect to be held accountable for your actions.

I would not want to be an abortion doctor standing before the judgment seat of God Almighty. Hey, we're all for choice. But it's not a "choice" it's a "baby".

I appreciate how you said that you personally don't like abortions but you aren't going to stand in a woman's way. That's a very mature attitude that, unfortunately, most people on here don't have. Thank you.

As for religion, I agree, the arguments are irrelevant.

    And Pinhead rules. ♥

I supported abortion under certain conditions up to the point that Hillery Clinton said to out law abortion was taking away responsibility of a woman to do as she wants with her body.

Where was this same responsibility she speaks of when they got pregnant, and then want to kill a child and call that responsible.

That's being irresponsible at the cost of an innocents life.

Why are you willing to stand by doing nothing while the innocent child is murdered, when they committed no crime?

Everyone has the right to life, according to the UN.

What choice does the child have?

If it wasn't because Christian society satanized anything that had to do with sex outside of matrimony, people wouldn't even consider abortion. They're mad because their holy plan is backfiring, same as with homosexuality, pornography, promiscuity and pagan worship. Maybe in the past people could get away with murdering people who acted outside of their laws, nowadays people just give'em the finger and they HATE that.

What?!?! Just because everyone sins is not an argument to make something lawful. I believe that abortion is wrong and we need to stand for what is right by voting for those who will stand up for the unborn.
