My 4y/o was dry at night with diapers, now wets at night with panties?

The wife and i are very verced on the tips / tricks of nightime training, we're not looking for standard tips of training, but rather, for someone who may have seen similar results when making the switch. So here's the jist of it, our daughter will be 4 on the 15th, we began potty training at 2.5, and achieved "all day panies" at 3.5. she had a few accidents at the begining, but has not had a problem for months, however, we have kept her in diapers at night, part from advice, part by her request, and part by convienence because she sleeps in the same room as her younger sisters, (3 and 1)but honestly, it was her dry nights that started us training 18 monthes ago. She wakes up with dry diapers 97% of the time now, so, a week ago we decided to make the switch to nightime panties, we wake her up to go when we go to sleep(a few hours after her), but so far, she has wet every night. We understand this can be a proccess, we are not impatient, but would like to do all we can to help her along

I wonder if you just "thought" she was dry in the mornings? I only say this because last night was my 3 yr olds first nite in big boy underwear at bed. He just had a week of "dry" diapers in the morning. But he woke up at 1 am crying that he peed his bed. But when I got him up he really wasnt wet. His underwear were just a little wet as if he started and then stopped.. His bed didnt even get wet. I wonder if his "diapers" could have had a couple of these through out the night and then would seem dry in the morning. Anyways if thats not it.. Maybe its just the change.. Her sub-conscious could be working against her lol.. Before it would have been "ok" if she had an accident she had a diaper on so she didnt worry about it and hence didnt have an accident. Now though she will wet the bed.. Murphy's Law.. I would just give her some time.. Continue to praise the dryness.. My girls are 9 and 11.. I only really remember 1 or 2 times of them wetting the bed at nite.. Limit her drink content to a few hours before bed..and go from there. Good Luck

i was having a similar problem with my daughter - we've just achieved dry nights. Basically, she has a smaller bladder so it fills easier. What i did was 1. nothing to drink after 7pm - one hour before bed. 2.two hours after I put her to bed I'd wake her up to go pee. 3. wake her again before I went to bed. The point is wake her up, if she's asleep on the toilet, she'll never know the feeling of needing to pee. After a few nights she'll wake up on her own, then you have to take her to the bathroom so she understands why she woke up and eventually she'll just get up to pee and go back to bed. Be prepared though, there may be a couple of accidents along the way so put a mattress cover on the bed and when she wakes up dry in the morning, make a big deal out of it. We had a sarah special, when she woke up dry, she got to choose her own breakfast.

If you've tried all the tricks like not giving her water just before bedtime and having her go potty just before bedtime, etc., then perhaps she has a mild bladder infection?

They are extremely common in young girls just past potty-training stage, as they are not yet experts at cleaning themselves lol. I had to re-teach my own 4 year old twice in how to wipe and get herself super clean after each potty session.

You said part by her request, have you looked into the possiblity that maybe she wants to where them.
