Now that Democrats have the house, how long before our taxes are raised?

Oh, You're talking about my tax cut, Hum, then why am I paying the state and federal government? You are too busy cutting up the poor when obviously you don't have a clue. To call people lazy or too dumb to get a job is a very bigoted statement. Of course I'm sure you know everyone in this great country of ours and can speak for everyone, Right? I hope you will stop judging others on what you think you know and start listening, really listening. Tax raising for the good of all who preside in this country is the best way I know to keep the very needed social programs and community organizations alive and thriving. I'll pay a few more dollars rather than be fooled by a so called tax break any day of the year. And yes my husband and I both work and are considered part of the rising number of the working poor. We are not lazy nor dumb we just care about all people in this country and want the best for everyone, including the rich. We also want this division of the parties to be narrowed. The people spoke yesterday and it's time for a change. "I think a change a change will do you good".

Well first of all, if you look at the numbers and percentages, the tax cut, although it did help everyone, proportionally helped the wealthiest of Americans more. Where someone in the lowest tax bracket saved an average of $11 per year on their tax, those in the highest tax bracket were saving over $5000 per year on their already meager tax bills. It is sickening that someone who makes millions is allowed to keep more of their income when they can afford to pay more back to society for whatever reason. The other funny things is that the federal tax rate is not a big issue. Welfare and other social programs receive minimal funding from the federal government. Most of this money comes from state taxes and all of those programs are run by the state not federal government. I was a "victim" (i am not a victim!) of government money cuts and lost my job in May. I have not been able to find a new job and I have two college degrees AND Experience! Part of the problem I know is this perception that I would cost too much money to hire. Unemployment is about 1/3 of my old pay and so we have experienced a severe loss of wages yet, when I call the state SRS office I am told I do not qualify. What was I asking for.....DAYCARE ASSISTANCE so I could go find a job without having to find someone to watch my child. Instead, I was told that our income was high enough to afford paying for daycare ourselves. The reason, in my opinion, because they only look at PRE TAX Income and they do not consider the cost of taxes, health care, housing, insurance, automobiles, food, etc. When all that is taken out of what we get each month we can not afford the $150 to $200 per week that day care costs here. So we are stuck between ability to pay for daycare and ability to stump for a job!

Now granted, I doubt tax increases would go to help people like me who only want two or three months of help as i job hunt but, with the cuts going to social services and needed services, it certainly is not helping.

Besides...i think those who wanted to go to war should pay for the war ..not my grand kids

I consider you. the two events could quit to exist as they're now. in some unspecified time interior the destiny interior the destiny, if issues proceed as they're, there will be the will for a revolution. the component is that the prosperous have become plenty richer whilst something certainly everyone seems to be suffering. This can't proceed indefinitely. The disparity has substitute into so extensive that a midsection type individual can't even think of what it somewhat is desire to be interior the better type. Revolution.

Lower taxes higher taxes, who cares? You can't control how much the gov't will make you pay so just pay it. I think that it is more important where your tax dollars go than how much the taxes are. Most people live far above where they have to live, so a little higher tax is ok. Just please spend the money on something other than Iraq.

I personally think that $2 billion would be enough to completely fix the welfare system so that if you aren't looking for a job, you don't get a check. Also, another $2 billion should go to state public colleges and universities so that they can stop raising tuition every year. Another $2 billion can go to getting lower-income kids into college. Another $2 billion should be spent on securing our border with Mexico. Another $1 billion should be spent on creating a gov't organization that tracks and identifies child predators and sex crimers. Another $1 billion should be spent on creating policies so that corporations in America can only send 10% of the jobs they have already sent to other countries.

I just fixed many of America's problems for 10% of what we spent on Iraq.

I'll forgive that load of crap since you're a cutie. I happen to know some really dumb people with jobs, so let's leave them out of this.

Bush's tax cuts actually COST me money and I'm below the poverty level. I'm not lazy, I'm disabled and run a very small business out of my home, and my husband is one of those dumb people I discussed earlier who works full time for babysitter wages. The last time he had a good job was when Clinton was in office

Sorry, this won't happen, first of all because Dems won't raise taxes on Middle Class and also because Bush will veto any tax raise for the wealthy.

I guess you don't get it that many of the wealthy don't need to work, have trust funds and make all their money on stocks, bonds and dividends. Do you think Paris Hilton needs to work?

You should be so proud of yourself for not being dumb, but just remember that you had very little to do with it., you should be proud to pay your taxes, when you see people down and out, just remember it could be you ore someone in your family. life can change in a heartbeat, everyone can not be as great as you..

i would say withing a year...they have to pretend to care about the middle class a little bit before they give themselves a raise to go over $165,000 a year and then make us pay more taxes...
